Can Pyranha Misting Concentrate be used in a backpack fogger?

Yes, you could use Pyranha 1-10 PX Permethrin Misting Concentrate in a backpack fogger. Although it is mostly used in a misting system you can apply it from any type of equipment that will make a mist or fog.

Q

Do I need to adjust the pH of the water with Pyranha 1-10x like you must with Riptide?
Riptide recommends pH adjustment to 5.5 to 7.0 and I could not find any info on the Pyranha product about this to maintain product viability.

There are certain products that are susceptible to problems with high pH balances in water. If a product label does not specifically address this issue it is because this particular product does not usually have any issues with pH.

Can I use Pyranha 1-10 PX to apply directly to horses as a repellent?
My horses usually only spend 1/3 of their day in their stalls with my misters. It would be great to use the same product for the misters as well as a direct apply repellant when they get turned out. Thanks.

According to page 4 of the Pyranha 1-10 PX Permethrin product label this product can safely be used directly on your horses as long as you follow the usage instructions.

How often do I need to apply Pyranha?
I live in Dallas and water the yard 2 to 3 times a week during summer months - does water/rain effect the product longevity?

A

Most folks use this product in their mosquito misting systems and they set the system to go off once a night when the mosquitoes are most active. The product really won't last more than 24 hours when used in this manner.

A

Pyranha should not be used in a propane or thermal fogger. It is formulated for misting systems or cold foggers. For propane or thermal foggers you should use Pyrocide 100.

Is Pyranha 1-10 PX safe to spray in horse pastures?
Do horses have to stay off of the grass for a period of time after spraying. I am using a yard sprayer for application.

Pyranha 1-10 PX is labeled to be applied to pastures and horse stables. Keep the horses away until it has dried. This can take 2-3 hours.

Do I add the Pyranha 1-10 PX to the tank in the small hole or into the filled 55 gallon tank?
My tank is filled with 55 gallons of water. Do I add the concentrate into the filled tank or into the smaller tank reservoir through the small opening into what appears to be a small tank opening to the larger tank?

Pyrethrins (e.g. RipTide) isomerize and lose strength when cooked in a misting system barrel that heats up in the sun. What is the story with Pyranha and heat? Thanks.

Yes you can. Pyranha 1-10 PX Permethrin is labeled to be used in regular sprayers. Please refer to the product label to see how much product you shold use for your sized tank. (Typically you will need 1.16 fl oz per gallon of water)
