Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide states that treated areas can be seeded 7 days after an application, with the exception of Kentucky Bluegrass, which you would need to wait 14 days.
The mix rate for use on bermuda will be 1.8 - 2.6 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide does not require the addition of a surfactant as it already contains one.
The amount of water used is not as important as getting the correct amount of product over the correct amount of area. Water is acting as the carrier for the product. However much water it takes you to cover 1000 sq ft is the amount of water you will mix with the correct amount of product per 1000 sq ft. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions. We also have a video here for how to calibrate your sprayer to know your rate per 1000 sqft.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide should not be tanked mixed with Pylex which requires the use of a surfactant and Q4 already contains one. You should apply in seperate applications, typically spot spraying dallisgrass directly.
To avoid potential stress or damage to your turf, we would suggest allowing at least 30 days of wait time between your first herbicide treatment and applying with Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide.
Yes, Q4 Plus is a good option to target Creeping Charlie aka Ground Ivy as directed on the product label:
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is not labeled to control or suppress bahiagrass but states not to apply to it as injury can occur. It is also not labeled to control dallisgrass. Please review our How to Get Rid of Dallisgrass Treatment Guide for information on eradicating this weed in your turf species.
Unfortunately we do not carry a product that would kill bahia grass in cool season turf. Your best option for this type would be to spot treat the bahia with a non selective like RoundUP and reseed/sod the desirable turfgrass
For warm season turfgrass you can use something like MSM Turf Herbicide.
Yes, you can apply Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide. However, applications in the summer (approximately July 15 to August 15) to older, drought stressed grassy weeds are less effective. Late summer applications (after August 15) to mature crabgrass can be very effective.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is labeled for pepperweed and is best applied when it just starts to emerge and is young. You can apply to a lawn seeded last fall.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide does include deadnettle on the manufacturer's product label, but does not include horsenettle, therefore we cannot confirm it would control it. You could consider a product like EndRun Herbicide, which does include horsenettle and many other broadleaf weeds on the manufacturer's product label, and can be safely applied to fully established fescue lawns if used as directed.
Once diluted, these concentrated herbicides should always be used or discarded within 24 hours of mixing.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is not labeled to be used on bahia and states to not apply to it.
We would not recommend doing so as Q4 Plus has Quinclorac in it, which is the active ingredient for Drive XLR8. Adding too much can cause injury to your lawn.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is not labeled to treat chamberbitter. Celsius WG Herbicide is labeled to treat chamberbitter in Bermuda grass. Please see the label for full application instructions.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide should only be applied to lawns that are established and listed on the label. Avoid applications should be kept at least 15 feet away from anything edible and avoid any contact with desirable ornamentals.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide cannot be used anywhere you plan to plant edibles. You would need to wait at least 1 year to do so or completely remove any treated soil and replace. The main product used for weeds in a vegetable garden or future garden site is a RoundUp type product, like RoundUp QuickPro. You can plant 2 weeks after the last application.
We would suggest doing a compatibility test before tank mixing Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide & other herbicides together. Using a small jar, mix both products according the tank mixing instructions on the more restrictive labeling of the two and look for separation and clumping. It should be noted that Q4 should not be tank mixed with products that contain the same active ingredients nor that require a surfactant.
Acclaim Extra Selective Herbicide is an option to use on cool season turfgrasses for it.
Per the product label for Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide as long as it has been 4 weeks since you seed you can apply.
Yes, Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is labeled to control Wild Geranium and Deadnettle. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is not labeled for Heath Rush. We would recommend talking to your local extension office on the best herbicide to treat for this weed and their recommendations as there are no university extension articles on effective weed control on this species either.
