    Q
Will Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide harm a lilac bush?
I have a large lilac bush that is surrounded by Canadian thistle. If I spay the thistle next to the lilac bush, will it hurt my lilac bush?
    A

Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide can potentially cause harm to desired plants like lilac.  I would carefully spot spray areas near the lilac bush, and also wrap the lilac bush in a large garbage bag to protect it from any drift spray.

    Q
Is the spot treatment and broadcast treatment application rate the same for Q4 Plus Herbicide?
    A

The Q4 Plus Herbicide Product Label states: Broadcast Treatments for Cool Season Turfgrass (kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, fescues, annual bluegrass, rough bluegrass, annual ryegrass)- Use rate per Application is 7 to 8 pints per acre or 2.6 to 3.0 fl oz/1000 sq/ft. When broadcasting your water volume may change so while the concentration of product per area is the same as the spot treatment, if your turf is very dense you may need 2-4 gallons of water over 1000 sq/ft, vs the only 1 gallon needed for spot treatments.

  • Asked by Darrick from Findlay, Oh
    09/19/2019
    Q
Will Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide kill tall fescue grass mixed in my yard?
I have a Kentucky Bluegrass lawn and have tall fescue starting to invade. Will this kill the tall fescue and leave my bluegrass alone?
    A

Q4 Plus Turf Herbicide is labeled to be safely used on tall fescue and will not control it.  There is not a selective product that would remove one cool season turf such as Tall Fescue from another like Kentucky Bluegrass.  We suggest spot treating with a non-selective like GlyPhoSel Pro and then reseeding after 2 weeks.
