    Does The Job

    By Dave on 09/15/2013

I had a full yard of crabgrass. Not just patches it truly had taken over my yard. I was searching for a product with that was legal in NY. This fit the bill and is the same as other products I had found but could not get shipped to NY. I followed the directions on the label mixed it and sprayed. Took me 4 or 5 hours to do the entire lawn. Saw the grass turning orange in about a 4 days and then it died. I dethached the yard and hand raked out the dead stuff. Re seeded and covered with straw and am watching it establish itself. This product did not kill the grass just the crabgrass and clovers. I will add a pre-emergent next spring and keep my fingers crossed. Great product in my experience

    Good crabgrass killer

    By Tom on 05/25/2013

This product works well to kill crabgrass in Zoysia grass. Kills crabgrass dead in 3 days and does not phase the Zoysia. It will not kill Oxalis.

    really works

    By Anonymous on 07/15/2013

I used this in my lawn because crabgrass had almost taken over my bermuda grass. I sprayed it about a week after cutting the lawn and within 48 hours I could see results. It has been 2 weeks since I sprayed and the bermuda grass now has a chance to grow back.

    Waiting for results.

    By Anonymous on 06/04/2013

Applied and after 5 days no results. Called customer support and was told could take 2 weeks depending on how long after the crab grass sprouted. It also might take another application. I did notice some yellowing after one week. I mixed 1 and 1/2 oz per gallon of water and used a spreader sticker. I will update this review in a week to see what happens.

Q
What additive can I add to the QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer?

I have QuinKill Max and was looking to add Speedzone, but I'm in NJ and saw it's not permitted, is there another solution?

A

We do offer Trimec 992 that can be used for selective post control of many broadleaf weeds like SpeedZone. Always perform a tank mix test first and try in an inconspicuous area prior to full lawn application. Please refer to the product label for each herbicide that you will apply to your lawn for complete mixing and applications.

Q
How safe is this around gardens of vegetables?
A
QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer would not want to be applied near veggies. Depending on what you are treating for, you could use Fertilome Over the Top.

Q
Does QuinKill Max control Blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium)?
A

QuinKill Max is not labeled to control Sisyrinchium. Atrazine is often used to control this plant in St. Augustine or Centipede turf. In other warm-season turf, you may have success with herbicides containing Trimec such as Fertilome Weed Free Zone. You can also always use a non-selective herbicide such as RoundUp QuikPro and just spot treat the areas where you find the blue-eyed grass.

Q
Which product is better, QuinKill or the Bayer Advance All In One?

QuinKill and Bayer both have the same active ingredient (Quinclorac) but at different concentrations. When both products are properly diluted, is the amount of quinclorac applied actually the same? I want to use something as effective as QuinKill for my crabgrass, but I don't need a lot, which is why I am considering the Bayer RTU product.

A
If you do not need a lot of product then we would definately recommend the Bayer Advanced All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer’s RTU as it is less expensive, no mixing required, and works just as well as QuinKill Max.

Q
How do I kill crabgrass in Bermuda grass?

I used a pre emergent but have tons of crabgrass in my lawn. Should I use a post emergent to kill them? If so,which brand do you recommend that will not kill my bermuda?

A

You could use a post-emergent to control it or you could even use a pre-emergent product called Dimension which also has very early post emergent crabgrass control.  For post emergent, QuinKill Max would be a good choice to use.

Q
How well does QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer work on winter bluegrass plus broadleaf weeds?
A

QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer is not labeled to kill poa annua, or annual bluegrass. In fact, bluegrass is highly tolerant to quinclorac. QuinKill Max can be used for some broadleaf species, including clovers, dollarweed, and speedwell. For better control of broadleaf weeds, you will probably want to tank mix with another product with 2,4-D or Trimec, such as Fertilome Weed-Out Lawn Weed Killer with Trimec. Be sure to check the product label to be sure it is safe to use on your turf. Q
How soon can I apply a second dose of QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer to the crabgrass that appears to not be affected by the first dose?

I applied QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer along with Speedzone and a sticky agent. Most weeds are dead or dying, but some didn't seem to be affected. It was morning with dew on the grass, so I feel I need to reapply in the evening. How soon can I do that? Is spot treatment OK in that case? Having lawn plugged and seeded in a couple of weeks, so am in a hurry.

A

QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer can be reapplied 2-3 weeks after first treatment. It is normal not to see a burn down just yet. This can tak at least 2 weeks to occur.

Q
Can you safely apply this to bermuda when temperatures are above 90 degrees?

Trying to kill crabgrass in my Bermuda yard in eastern North Carolina.

A
QuinKill Max Crabgrass and Weed Killer should not be used in excessively hot or cold temperatures due to it burning the leaves of desirable plants. We would recommend using it in the early morning or late evening when the temperatures are not too hot or too cold.
