Ranger Pro Herbicide is not labeled for use inside of ponds. We would recommend using Diquat Water Weed and Landscape Herbicide. If you are doing a spot treatment, the mixing ratio is 0.75 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Be sure to use a surfactant with this product as well.
Ranger Pro will only kill the weeds that are sprayed directly so it will not prevent anything new from growing in the area. It has a chemical residual in the soil of up to 2 weeks but weeds/grass can start to grow back anytime after if they were not sprayed directly. Ranger Pro is a non selective herbicide that will kill anything that it is applied to so will kill the grass if you apply to it. If you are looking to prevent weeds from growing in an area you would need a pre-emergent herbicide depending on the type of weeds if applying in lawns or landscaped areas and do not want to prevent everything. Or if you want to kill and prevent anything from growing in the area for up to 1 year you would use a vegetation management product.

Ranger Pro is formulated as a water-soluble liquid with surfactant, therefore no additional surfactant is needed. Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. It is then absorbed into the soil and breaks down naturally, and therefore will not spread through the ground and kill neighboring plants. Please refer to dilution table on page 3 of the product label for different strengths of dilution.

Ranger Pro is a nonselective herbicide, meaning that it will kill just about any plant or weed that it is sprayed on. However, once the weeds in the area that you have treated are dead, it will not prevent any future plant growth from occurring. You will need to either re-treat with Ranger Pro if any other weeds pop up in the area, or treat the area with a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent future weed growth.
