Product Overview

Red Top Fly Trap is a highly effective solution to the fly control problems in your outdoor areas. It is a non-toxic trap that effectively eliminates flies by attracting female flies using the special bait to help break the breeding cycle. This technique reduces reproduction of new generation of flies, as well as prevent them from getting immune as in the case of insecticides. The bait lasts for up to 6 to 8 weeks, providing lasting control against flies in home and domestic environment. It is very simple to use, plus it is competitively priced to offer an efficient yet affordable way to catch flies. The Redtop Standard Trap is a reusable trap with a 2-gallon capacity. It can be folded when not in use for easier storage.

HOW IT WORKS:

Place the trap away (not closer than 5 metres) from the affected area and add bait. Add luke warm water (if water is milky, allow to stand for 24 hours before use). Watch the flies leave the affected area and enter the Fly Catcher. New flies go directly to the trap.

BAITING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove the red top from the dish and unfold the bag.
  2. Straighten out the mesh cone and make sure that the hole at its apex is open.
  3. Add the bait.
  4. Add one litre of luke warm water (if water is milky, allow to stand for 24 hours before use).
  5. Replace the turret by fitting the legs of the turret into the notches in the cover dish, then twist to lock in position.
  6. Hang the Redtop outside in a suitable position with sufficient sunlight. Not closer than 5 metres from fly breeding areas.
  7. Disposal: When the trap is full or no longer effective, place the trap into an old plastic shopping bag and then into the garbage.

EMPTYING INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Remove the turret and empty the contents into drain, compost heap or in a hole in a garden bed. (Dead flies are rich in nutrients and make good compost).
  2. Slit the bag with a sharp instrument and drain. Keep away from pets and children. OR
  3. Remove the turret and rimclip. TIP: Pre-activate the new bait by pouring it in a jar with some luke warm water and leave in a sunny spot for 3-4 days before emptying trap. This will ensure continuing catching.
  4. Remove the bag with contents and place in an old shopping bag, tie well and dispose of into a garbage bin. TIP: Dispose of old trap bags on garbage collection day.

FITTING THE SPARE BAG:

  1. Place the edge of the cover-dish inside the bag along the line of seating slits.
  2. While holding the cover-dish firmly, carefully pull the edges of the bag over the cover-dish.
  3. Make sure that the cover-dish is fully seated in the bag along the seating slits.
  4. Replace the turret by fitting the legs of the turret into the notches in the cover dish, then twist to lock in position.
  5. Tear the excess skirt of the bag off along the perforations. Rebait as per baiting instructions.
