Replacement for Diazinon

I just finished a 25 year old container of Diazinon. Just shows how much of an outdoor ant problem I have had. I went unsuccessfully looking for a new can and learned, from your site, that it has been banned. When I found ants congregating outdoors I would sprinkle some granuals, they would be taken to the queen, and, voila, ants gone. I see now liquid sprays and granuals that only last 3 months. I thought if the queen dies the rest die. What is this retreat every 3 months about? I only need a container about the size of a Pringles canister, something inexpensive that works but I would (relatively) quickly use up and replace as needed, not of a size that I would be tripping over for the next two and a half decades. What do you suggest

Answer:

Residential uses of diazinon were outlawed in the U.S. in 2004. We were able to find product labels by searching for "diazinon 4E specimen label", but we would still recommend contacting the manufacturer for advice on product  usage and safety. We have several products for general pest control that are readily available and are safe to use around humans and pets. We do offer a granular bait that is labeled to eradicate ants called Maxforce Complete Granules. You can apply a liquid spray application with Taurus SC up against the structure (1ft and 1ft out) around the foundation a couple of times per year for a non-repellent barrier for ants. This transfers to other ants also. The Maxforce Complete Granules will be shared also. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Ants for a successful eradication program.
