    Q
What is the rate per gallon of water for Safari 20SG Systemic Insecticide with Dinotefuran to treat a few shrubs if I don't have 100 linear feet to treat?
    A

Safari 20SG Systemic Insecticide with Dinotefuran is applied at 0.5 to 1 tsp per gallon of water for foliar spray applications to small treatment areas. For soil drench applications to the root zone, the recommended rate is 3 to 6 grams (1.25 - 2.5 level teaspoons) per foot of shrub height in 16 to 64 ounces of water per foot of shrub height.

Water volume is determined by the soil conditions and how much water is needed to evenly cover the root zone from the trunk to the canopy.

    Q
what concentration to use for trunk spray emerald ash borer?
Product label says mix "12-24 oz/gal depending on bark." But which one is for thicker bark, the more dilute 12 oz/gal or the more conc 24 oz/gal? Label doesn't say.
    A
Safari 20SG Systemic Insecticide is labeled to be used as a basal bark spray on trunks of trees for borer control and the label states: "Depending on bark type and thickness, one gallon of spray solution will typically cover 65-85" of cumulative trunk diameter (1.5-2.0 fl oz per inch of trunk diameter) when applied to trunk between soil surface and 4-5 feet above soil surface." Typically the thicker the bark and more active the infestation, the higher use rate would be recommended.

    Q
Why is this so much more expensive than Alpine WSG which contains twice the amount of dinotefuran?
I was going to purchase safari for use in my IPM along with spinosad and Thiamethoxam but the Alpine WSG seems to be a better buy.
    A
While Alpine WSG contains the same active ingredient as other products, like Safari, the formulation is not designed to be used in systemic applications and is only for use as a surface application for the listed pests
