    There is no time restriction for reseeding a lawn after applying Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control.  You can seed at the same time.

    To avoid potential turf injuryScotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control should be applied when temperatures are below 85 degrees. Temperature restrictions only apply to the time of application and not during the course of the day.

    Per the manufacter, spreader settings when using Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control  should be as follows:

    • Scotts Broadcast/Rotary Spreader - Set to 4 3/4
    • Scotts Drop Spreaders - Set to 8 1/4

    Is Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard safe to use around fruit bearing trees?
    I applied summer guard to lawn adjacent to fruit trees. Will the fruit from the trees be safe to eat with exposure from the insecticides in the summer guard ?

    Since the Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control is not labeled to be used around anything edible, we would recommend keeping applications outside of the dripline of the fruit trees.  We would recommend checking directly with Scotts for advice if already applied.  You can reach them at they can be reached at 800-543-TURF (8873)

    Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control is not labeled to control slugs. Monterey Sluggo Plus would be a better product to use.

    Is Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control labeled for Springtails?

    Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control is not labeled for Springtails. We would recommend using a insecticide concentrate like Bifen IT in addition to locating the breeding ground and nest area.

    Lots of deer in my yard. Should I reapply?
    I generally apply this product, "Scotts Summertime Lawn food w/insect control" in late May, early June because I core aerate and overseed every year. Living in NJ time is a problem to get my 3 feedings plus overseeding during each year. Last two years I have had a large number of deer laying/sleeping in my yard, so should I reapply this product instead of my normal "Scotts

    Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control can be applied every two months during the growing season, according to the manufacturer's product label.  You could also consider our Outdoor Flea and Tick Kit, which can be applied at 14-30 day intervals for effective tick control.

    If the ground was damp from overnight humidity when Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control was applied, does this affect the application?

    If there was minimal due on the lawn when Scotts Turf Builder SummerGuard Lawn Food with Insect Control was applied, it should be fine as typically morning dew is not enough moisture to affect the application.
