Sedgehammer Just Works
By Rick on 08/17/2019
Ok, it's not inexpensive, but it just plain works. We had the worst growth of nutsedge in our four-acre lawn this year that we have had in 15 years. It was so thick in some areas you could not see the turf. One application with SedgeHammer at the specified rate (one included spoonful per 2 gals. in most places and 2 in the heavy areas) wiped it out. Actually used a 2-gallon sprayer. After 35 gallons, I still have some left.

Kills Nutsedge
By Michael on 08/23/2019
If you have an issue with nutsedge in your St. Augustine grass, this stuff works great. Followed the directions in applying 2 days after mowing. (Used 1 gallon handheld liquid pump spreader.) After a week, noticed the nutsedge was still there, but not sprouting up above the St. Aug grass. Another week and it turned yellow. After a month it's disappeared completely. Sedgehammer is a little pricy, but it gets the job done and doesn't harm the lawn. BTW - Used it in a different area of the lawn recently. Had a heavy downpour the next day and it didn't work as well. I think best to use when it will be dry for 24-48 hours.

SEDGEHAMMER is the only product that I have purchased for Nut Sedge that absolutely works! I have purchased at least 6 different types of Nut Sedge killer, none of which worked as indicated on the container. You do have to be patient, it will take 4 to 5 days for there to be signs that it is working. But once it starts, it's over for Mr. Nut Sedge.
Seems to work as advertisied.....

An incredible Super Selective Herbicide. Our 1 acre yard is almost totally free of Purple Nutsedge. 1st application and the impatient me wanted it dead the first day. It began to yellow out after about 4 days so I sprayed it again. I probably wasted that second round of spray. But who cares my sedge is gone. The pesky weed pops up from time to time I guess from random nutlets that are sprouting. I have a sprayer loaded when they decide to pop up. All in all a wonderful product. Stay vigilant its worth it.

If you have nut grass, the bright green grass that seems to grow overnite, you can use sedge hammer to get rid of it. You don't see any results for about 4 days or so, but then it turns yellow when the nut dies and then it is gone. One application for me, and it went away.
Excellent product

Effective for my Yellow Nutsedge
By Sierra on 09/03/2019
I'd give it four stars but it's not especially good value for money. I bought the 2 pack for an area I thought would be treated by one. Ended up using both and still had a few to pull up by hand when I was done. As expected, it took a few days to show an effect though growth seemed to slow and then stop. Nutsedge is now yellow or brown but still there, 2-3 weeks later.
Excellent - works great

Have tried many herbicides to eliminate Nut sedge in my yard with limited success. Purchased SedgeHammer and it really works. Yellowing within 7 days and eliminated areas that contained the pesky weed. Will spot treat to control . Great product, you need to buy.

After years of fighting yellow nutsedge, bindweed, and lady's thumb I decided that I had to resort to herbicides. I carefully removed all flowers from the affected beds and, following the directions, sprayed the offending plants. Within two weeks, the nutsedge had turned yellow and then brown. A few plants sprouted and I found other infestations so varieties I had to do a follow up treatment. All the plants appear to be dead and no more have sprouted. Once the weather gets cooler, I will remove the dead weeds and cover the beds with a layer of newspaper, landscape cloth, and cedar mulch. In the spring I will plant my flowers in raised flower boxes.
