    Treating Bagworms

    By Anonymous on 07/29/2013

I was beside myself with 100s of bagworms all over my evergreen trees and shrubs, killing them. I used ecosmart insect killer, killed many but still had a bunch left. I tried Sevin and no more bagworms! Love this product! It works and not too expensive!!

    Worked better than other insecticides

    By Mic on 08/28/2012

I spray for cucumber beetles and sucker bugs. Sevin is safest and works the best. Sucker bugs will kill a plant in hours if not treated in time.

Q
Do I broadcast the Sevin Concentrate or spray only plants in large field?

I have 6 acres of newly planted strawberries. When they say 2qts/acre, does that mean I use a boom sprayer (spray the whole field) or is that rate for just spraying the rows of plants. Also, how much water with the 2 qts of Sevin per acre?

A

Per page 8 of the product label you would need to mix 3.0 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water and spray upper and lower leaf surfaces and between fruit clusters and on small limbs and trunks
to the point of runoff where pest appear.  Repeat applications as necessary up to a total of  five times per year for small fruits, but not more often than once every seven days.

We cannot find anything on the product label that mentions the 2 qt/acre application so we are unsure where that information came from.
