    Q
Can I expect good results controlling spiders and mosquitoes around boathouse using Shockwave Fogging Concentrate?
Also, what is the oil for the mixing and where can I get it?
    A
Shockwave Fogging Concentrate is not labeled for use around boats/docks/boathouses as it is highly toxic to aquatic invertabrates.  Around water you are limited to natural options.  EcoVia EC would be a better option and can be use on a sprayer, backpack sprayer or mist blower, power sprayer, mechanical aerosol misting/fogging equipment, (ULV or thermal), automated spray systems or other conventional application equipment.

    Q
i used this once and shut off cause didnt know how to use will it leave my things oily, do i have to cover tin
    can i put in sprayer
    A

The Shockwave Fogging Concentrate should be used in a fogging machine. Can you please tell us a little more about where you are treating and what the target pest is? This is an oil-based product, so if used inside a home, it may leave an oily residue on hard surfaces like flooring or counters. Any food, utensils, etc. would need to be removed or covered prior to using this product.

  • Asked by Ron from West Monroe, La

    Q
Is Shockwave a concentrate? What is used as the dilutant and how do I dilute?
    A

Yes, Shockwave Fogging Concentrate is a concentrate. It can be used undiluted or diluted, depending on the type of equipment you are using to apply it and where you are using the product (residential, food-handling, livestock premises, etc.). It is recommended to be mixed with mineral oil. The dilution ratio of Shockwave depends on what and how you are treating. For example, when using a space spray you would dilute 1 part Shockwave into nine parts oil. Please refer to the product label for the proper mixing ratio for your needs.

  • Asked by Jeanette from Plymouth Ma

    Q
Is this product effective on Bed Bugs? After fogging a house, how long before re-entry?
    A
It is not recommended to fog a house for bed bugs.  Studies show that fogging for bed bugs can make a problem worse and make them spread out more.  Also, bed bugs have shows signs of being resistant to pyrethrin products and since most fogging solutions are made with pyrethrin in them, most do not work and do not provide enough kill ratio.  We recommend our bed bug kits which contain the same types of products that professional companies and are proven to work under current bed bug strains. The kits have a very high success rate and come with full instructions on how to apply the products properly.

  • Asked by Erin from Canton, Ga

    Q
Does Shockwave kill most types of ticks?
Is it harmful to frogs or birds?
    A

Shockwave is labeled to control brown dog ticks, ticks that may carry Lyme disease, and ticks in general. This product is safe for non-target animals when used as directed. Do not use around water that may contain aquatic life or treat where animals like frogs or birds are known to be present. Keep in mind that Shockwave cannot be used for area-wide pest treatments such as all over your lawn. A great alternative product for area-wide tick control which is not harmful to aquatic life or birds is EcoVia EC.

  • Asked by William from Gilbert

    Q
Can Shockwave Fogging Concentrate be used to treat an entire home for mites, such as bird mites?
    A

Shockwave Fogging Concentrate is not labeled for bird mites. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

What is the efficacy of Shockwave Fogging Concentrate on Bifen resistant roach strains?
    A

Shockwave Fogging Concentrate would kill roaches that may be resistant to Bifenthrin. Please keep in mind that we do not recommend to fog for roaches unless the issue is a large one. what you recommend to applly on rug with moth on it? you recommended this prudact for us Shockwave for fogging in store.
    A
This product may be used in homes or businesses, indoors or outdoors around structures, in ULV foggers and mosquito misting systems. We would not recommend spraying you carpets very directly for fear of discoloration. If you want to test a small part of a carpet beforehand, you could - but only apply as directed on the product label.

    Q
Can I use Shockwave in a propane fogger and if so do you sell the mineral oil?
Trying to find a good fogger chemical for the yard for ticks. Will this work for that and also work on small trees with aphids? I found another web sight that said not to use on lawns.
    A
Shockwave can be used in a thermal or propane fogger.  This product may be used in homes or businesses, indoors or outdoors around structures, in ULV foggers and mosquito misting systems but you are correct is not labeled for use a broadcast across turf, only for spot treamtents around structures.  If ticks are in the area when you fog and they are touched by the fog, they will die but fogging does not have a long term residual, so it really only kills what it touches when it is wet.  For 30 day control of ticks, mosquitoes and other insects, we would recommend Talstar.

    Q
Will shockwave kill powder post beetles?
    A
Shockwave Fogging Concentrate will kill insects that come in contact with it. Since Powder Post beetles dwell inside wood, you want to use a product that will penetrate that wood. We recommend using Boracare.
