We had Termidor SC applied around the entire foundation of our house about 2 1/2 years ago just after we had the landscaping around the house redone. The previous owners had problems with termites and we took this opportunity to convert from a bait system they used to a barrier method. We decided to have new mulch placed this year in the front of the house along the foundation. Should I add any Termidor to those areas along the foundation? If so, should I retrench or just add a superficial coating with no digging?
As long as the Termidor was applied in a trench around the foundation, and the barrier was not broken when mulch was applied, you should not have to reapply Termidor. However, Termidor is a great treatment for ants, roaches, etc on the surface. You can spray it 1 foot up and out around the foundation every 6 months. Termidor in the ground for termites will last up to 10 years.
