If you are planning to treat raw wood that is untreated and has no finish on it, you would go one of two potential treatment options. If the wood currently has any wood destroying insect in it like termites, powderpost beetles or carpenter ants, you would treat with Boracare first at a 1:1 ratio, then for mold protection and further insect protection use the Boracare with Mold-Care at the standard 5:1 ratio after the first application of Boracare had completely dried. If there are no signs of a current wood destroying infestation and you are doing this purely for prevention, you would only need to use the Boracare with Mold-Care at the 5:1 ratio to protect it from wood destroying pests and fungus and mold.
