Our warehouse that ships Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide - 50 lbs. is located in Lawrenceville, GA
While Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide - 50 lbs. would prevent listed weeds, it would not prevent grasses. Eraser Max Super Concentrate Herbicide would be a better choice as it would prevent both grasses & weeds for up to a year. You just need to make sure you use enough water so that the product goes past the gravel & makes contact with the soil
While Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide - 50 lbs. is a great pre-emergent for ornamentals, you may consider Ferti-lome Over the Top II Grass Killer or Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide as a post-emergent. Both products are safe for ornamentals.
Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide is not labeled to prevent mugwort and will not kill anything actively growing nor is it for use in lawns. According to an article from the NC extension office there are no pre-emergents for it.
Depending on the type of grass you have Quincept is labeled to control it as a post emergent application.
Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide - 50 lbs. is safe for established perennials. Make sure you read instructions to your specific plant on label. If you have any ornamental bulbs there is explicit instruction on page 9 of label .
The Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide product label states “Injury on the following plant species has been observed following applications of Snapshot 2.5 TG and use is no recommended” and lists hydrangeas in that section. We would not recommend using it around your hydrangeas unless injury can be tolerated.

Unfortunately, since Snapshot 2.5 TG does not specificaly list Japanese Stiltgrass as one of the weeds controlled, there is no information to determine a recommended application rate. This product is labeled safe for many varieties of ivy including english, Algerian, and ivy geranium but would not be used on morning glory ivyleaf as this is listed as a weed controlled at the 150lb per acre rate.
Under General Use/Application Instructions Section on page 2 of the Snapshot 2.5 TG product label, it advises that repeat applications at the 150lb per acre (3.45lbs per 1000 sq ft / 0.35lbs per 100 sq ft) or 200lbs per acre(4.6lbs per 1000 sq ft / 0.46lbs per 100 sq ft) should not be made sooner than 60 days following the initial application. If applications were not watered in sufficiently with atleast 0.5 inches of water or if the granules overlapped, this can cause injury to desirable ground covers.
A better option for pre emergent control of Japanese Stiltgrass in landscape beds would be Dimension 2EW. This product is tolerant to English Ivy and does specifically list Japanese Stiltgrass (Mary’s Grass) is as a weed controlled. Application rate is 0.73 fl oz per gallon of water per 1000 sq ft or for smaller areas, 0.073 (2.2 ml) per 16 to 32 oz of water. Apply in a single application or sequential applications at 5 to 10 week intervals. View the full product label for more information.
During growing season and summer months, japanese stiltgrass can be controlled with Acclaim Extra that is a post emergent herbicide labeled to control Japanese Stiltgrass and safe for English Ivy ornamentals/groundcover. Please review the full product label for more information
Pre emergents work best for this weed when applied before stiltgrass germinates which occurs several weeks before crabgrass germiantion. Contact your County Extension Office for exact timing recommendations for your area.

Snapshot 2.5 TG - 50 lbs. provides pre-emergent control of certain broadleaf weeds and annual grasses to listed landscape and field grown ornamentals on the product label, which do not include cacti or succulents.
You could consider instead using Dimension 2EW pre-emergent herbicide, which can also be used in landscape ornamentals, and includes cactus as a tolerant ornamental listed on the product label, if used as directed.
Snapshot 2.5 TG is a pre-emergent herbicide that needs to be activated with about 0.5 inches of rainfall or irrigation. If you are expecting extremely heavy rains, then it would be best to delay your application so that your barrier is not disturbed. Snapshot should be activated within 3 days of application for best results.
Snapshot 2.5 TG will not prevent tolerable species from growing only prevents weed germination in these areas if applied at the correct timing and rate as directed.
According to our Rep with Dow Agro, the only difference in the Snapshot 2.5 TG Herbicide and Snapshot 2.5 DG is the package size and coloring of the granule The DG formulation does use also use the Andersons patented DG Lite formulation, which features a dispersible granule for improved, uniform coverage.
The application and active ingredients are both the same. The Snapshot 2.5 DG has now been discontinued but the 2 different coloring of the granules was due to to some Turf Pros not wanting a yellow granule and prefer the brown granule but neither should stain.
Snapshot 2.5 TG can only be applied around established plants. Per the product label, avoid using Snapshot 2.5 TG in areas where you are going to put in new plants for at least one year.
