I just planted tulips to come up in the spring. Can I use Snapshot in this bed now for stopping weed in spring?
The bulbs have been planted in late October and we have had several frost . Should I wait until spring to apply right before bulbs come up ? Thanks for any help.
    A

Per the Snapshot 2.5 TG label, you can apply Snapshot to fall planted bulbs for winter weeds. In the spring you will need to make another application for late spring/summer growing weeds.

Ornamental Bulbs Do not use Snapshot 2.5 TG in bulb production flelds. For use in landscape settings only.Snapshot 2.5 TG may be applied for control of susceptible annual weeds in ornamental bulbs, e.g., bulbous iris, daffodil (narcissus), hyacinth and tulip. Apply Snapshot 2.5 TG to the soil surface 2 to 4 weeks after planting, but prior to the emergence of annual weeds. Snapshot 2.5 TG may also be applied following bulb emergence but prior to fiowering and after fiowering. For fall planted bulbs, apply Snapshot 2.5 TG again in late winter or early spring to weed-free soil surfaces.

  • Asked by Jennifer from Crawfordsville, In
    03/10/2016
    Q
What is the best pre emergent herbicide for a tree planting?
I have a 7 acre tree planting, mostly oaks, walnuts, black locust, norway spruce and white cedar that are planted in rows with clover planted in between the rows. What is the best and LONGEST lasting pre emergent herbicide to use around the trees? The planting has been established for 5 years now. Marestail, cockbur and dandelions are primary weeds. I'm tired of spraying roundup 3 times a year!
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG sounds like the product you need and should do a good job for you. However, it is labeled for white clover since it is considered a broadleaf weed, so Snapshot would prevent the clover from germinating if planted from seed, as well.

    Q
Is Snapshot 2.5 TG a good choice for dandelion weed control in Kentucky Blue Grass?
Need some dandelion weed control help
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG is not labeled for use on your lawn.

We would recommend using Fertilome Broadleaf Weed Control with Gallery. This is safe for use on centipede grass and is a granular product. It is also labeled for pre-emergent control of dandelions, as well as other weeds.

  • Asked by Derek from Saint Augustine, Fl

    Q
Can Snapshot 2.5 TG be used on perennial peanut?
I have perennial peanut as a ground cover rather than grass. Will it hurt the peanut?
    A

The Snapshot 2.5 TG product manufacturer states that they do not know whether it would be safe to use over perennial peanut since it is not on the label. This article on Perennial Peanut in Urban Landscapes suggests spot-treating weeds with a Roundup-type product that is non-selective in this particular groundcover.

    Q
How much rain will Snapshot take until it becomes ineffective?
    A

Snapshot 2.5 TG is a pre-emergent herbicide that needs to be activated with about 0.5 inches of rainfall or irrigation. If you are expecting extremely heavy rains, then it would be best to delay your application so that your barrier is not disturbed. Snapshot should be activated within 3 days of application for best results. Repeat applications at 150 lbs per Acre or higher should not be made sooner than 60 days, per the product label.

  • Asked by Yami from San Jose, Ca
    05/08/2018
    Q
What happen if Snapshot is applied without water? Will it still be effective? Will it lose effectiveness if I water it the next day?
    A

Snapshot should always be watered in (so that it can reach the soil level) to help stop the weeds from germinating. Please make sure the Snapshot is used at another time when you are ready to apply water. It will not lose it's effectiveness, but the prodcut works better when it is watered in.

  • Asked by Tyler from Cumming

    Q
Using Snapshot 2.5 TG in a new bed
What would be best for weed control in a new bed? First get to soil then blanket spray Roundup then sprinkle this out? Is RoundUp a bad idea? I would be planting in this bed as well. Thank you.
    A

Roundup would be good to use to kill anything in the bed now as well as spot treating with care on future weeds, then you could plant in 2 weeks and apply Snapshot 2.5 TG after planting for future prevention.
