    Q
Is Snapshot DG a good pre-emergent for St. Augustine vs Ferti-lome Gallery
We have used Ferti-lome Gallery on St. Augustine in Charleston, SC for several years. It was affordable but no longer is. The 10 lb. bag treats a much smaller area than suggested. Because of the very high cost now for treatment of such a small area per 10 lb. bag ($45) we are making a change. Is Snapshot DG a good alternative? It is a larger bag 25 lb. bag ($68), appears more affordable and understand it lasts 8 months. We have used Surflan at times but is no longer available.
    A

Snapshot DG Herbicide is not labeled for use on turfgrass at all and would not be safe to apply. Ferti-lome with Gallery would be a better option depending on the target weeds.  Anything with Dithiopyr is also great to use in the spring and there are granule options.
