    Q
Will Solitare Herbicide hurt pets to eat grass after it is dry?
    A

Solitare Herbicide is safe for pets after the product has dried, typically 4-6 hours after. Keep pets and children out the area to be treated during the application. Please follow the label instructions for details on your treatment.

The small amount of active left behind would not be enough to harm a pet if they eat treated grass, we would be more concerned with them eating the grass itself.

    Q
How long after applying Solitare Herbicide to kill crabgrass and nutsedge will it take for grass to come back?
    A

When Solitare Herbicide is used with a Non Ionic Surfactant, the product label advises that “ Treated turfgrass will recover with new growth. Discolored leaf tissue will be removed with mowing. To reduce potential for discoloration, do not apply Solitare Herbicide on turfgrass that is weakened by weather, mechanical, chemical, disease or other related stress. Maintain proper cultural practices such as adequate moisture and fertility levels to promote healthy turf growth”

Temporary discoloration of some turf types may result from use of surfactants or adjuvants with Solitare Herbicide. High temperatures and high relative humidity may increase the risk of temporary discoloration.”

    Q
Can I use Solitare Herbicide on my bahia grass to kill crabgrass?
    A

Unfortunately, we are unaware of any selective post emergent products that are safe for bahia and will remove crabgrass. For pre emergent control you have a few options to choose from in both liquid and granular formulations:Fertilome Pro Turf Weed Out Fertilizer Plus Crabgrass Preventer. This product controls crabgrass prior to coming up with some post emerge control in the early stages, broad leaf weeds after they have come up and also gives your lawn a boost of nutrients at the same time. You would need 7 bags of this to cover all 2 acres broadcasted once.Dimension 2EW Herbicide.  is one our top pre emergent herbicide products and will have excellent control over crabgrass and other broad leaf weeds. You would use 0.37 ounces per 1000 sq/ft in no less than 2 gallons of water. Most customers use Program 1 for application according to the product labels instructions. You would need only one 1/2 gallon of Dimension to do your full 2 acre lawn twice.

    Q
Can I apply Solitare Herbicide and put down new grass seed in the same day or week?
    A

Per the product label for Solitare Herbicide: Reseeding, overseeding or sprigging of treated areas within one (1) month after application of this product could inhibit the establishment of desirable turfgrasses. Overseeding of bermudagrass with perennial ryegrass at two (2) to four (4) weeks after an application can be done if slight injury to perennial ryegrass can be tolerated.

    Q
Is Solitare Herbicide labeled to kill horsenettle?
    A

No Solitare Herbicide is not labeled to kill horsenettle and unfortunately, the only option for treating horsenettle in residentail lawns is going to be spot treating with a non selective like Roundup Quick Pro and reseeding the lawn after 2 weeks.

If you are treating Range-land, Permanent Grass Pastures or Wildlife Management Areas, GrazonNXT is labeled to control horsenettle at the rate of 19-34 fl oz per acre (43,560 sq ft). Please review the product label for more information.

    Q
Do I need to be careful about overspray of Solitare Herbicide around flowers and boxwoods?
    A

Solitare Herbicide contains active ingredients which could harm desirable ornamental plants like your flowers or boxwoods, so you should avoid spraying these plants directly or allowing overspray to contact them. You can use plastic sheeting to shield these plants, if necessary. Be sure to spray on a calm day, as well.
