    Q
Can I use Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer to kill weeds growing on desert landscape?
I have weeds growing on my rocks because I live in Southern Nevada. I want to know if this product will kill all weeds or just the specific kind that grows on St Augustine Grass?
    A

Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St. Augustine Grass is only for use in St. Augustine and Centipede grass lawns and not in any landscaped areas.  Surlan is our most popular pre-emergent product for rock landscapes to help prevent weeds from growing.  Depending on the type of weeds you are trying to control in the landscaped area Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer would be good for existing broadleaf weeds. Fertilome Over the Top II Weed Killer would be good for grassy weeds.

  • Asked by Ricky from Salado, Tx
    03/16/2021
    Q
Can I use Atrazine and Barricade a day apart on St. Augustine prior to rain/watering?
    A

We recommend that you use them one week apart to avoid over-stressing your turf. You should apply the Barricade first as it needs to be watered in. Atrazine is a bit different. Rain or water within 2 or 3 days of application may decrease the effectiveness on emerged weeds. However, for the control of weeds from seeds, rainfall or watering is necessary within 7 to 10 days after treatment.
