    Q
Can I use Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer to kill weeds growing on desert landscape?
I have weeds growing on my rocks because I live in Southern Nevada. I want to know if this product will kill all weeds or just the specific kind that grows on St Augustine Grass?
    A

Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St. Augustine Grass is only for use in St. Augustine and Centipede grass lawns and not in any landscaped areas.  Surlan is our most popular pre-emergent product for rock landscapes to help prevent weeds from growing.  Depending on the type of weeds you are trying to control in the landscaped area Hi-Yield 2, 4-D Selective Weed Killer would be good for existing broadleaf weeds. Fertilome Over the Top II Weed Killer would be good for grassy weeds.

    Q
Can Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St Augustine Grass be used to treat poa annual (annual bluegrass) in late summer on centipede lawns?
    A

Southern Ag Atrazine Weed Killer for St Augustine Grass is labeled to treat poa annua (annual bluegrass) in Centipede grass and can be applied during both dormant and growing seasons. Best results are achieved when applied in early spring or dormant periods when weeds are samll and not yet emerged.

For annual bluegrass, do not apply when rainfall or irrigation is expected within 2 to 3 days of the application. For control of weeds at seed stage, you will need to water the application within 7 to 10 days

Per the product label, for smaller applications: mix 4.3 fl oz per gallon of water per 500 sq ft and for larger areas: apply 21 fl oz (1.1 pints) per 4 gallons of water per 2000 sq ft area. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year.

For Poa Annua Prevention, we recommend applying a pre ermergent in early spring and late fall to prevent the weeds from germinating.
