Speed Zone
By Bob on 07/21/2014
Only 50% effective on the clover and less on on dandelions & etc. Not very satisfied at all!!
Expert response:
We are sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase. Many post-emergent herbicides will require a second treatment, especially in the summer months when weeds may not be actively growing. Per the product label:
"Spray when broadleaf weeds are young and actively growing for best results. Speed-Zone Lawn Weed Killer may be applied in the spring, summer, or fall. Spring and fall treatments under adequate soil moisture conditions are preferred to the summer treatments. Broadcast (entire areas) applications or follow-up applications at 2-6 week intervals are recommended for more mature weeds, for dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions.
Spot treatments during the summer may be appropriate for sparse infestations, or as a follow-up treatment, or any time broadleaf weeds are susceptible."

not the results i expected
By Phil on 04/14/2012
It's been 2 weeks since I sprayed my lawn and the weeds are not dying as I expected. I thought that I would see the weeds wither more quickly. Maybe its a slow release formula. I thinking of doing other applications around the house, but not now.

Dissappointed in Gordon's Speed Zone Weed Killer
By Bill on 08/27/2015
Followed instructions for proper concentration amount with water. Applied to broad leaf weeds throughout the lawn area applying with new sprayer (by hand). The broad leaf weed did not change color or welter. Sorry but the product did not hold up to its claim. Thank you.

Didn't work but killed my grass
By Vijay on 07/19/2020
I bought it based on the raving reviews and the recommendation from the agent. I tried like 4 times so far but it couldn't kill the clover. But it killed the grass. Similar experience with other products on this site. Ortho products at Lowes worked much better

Not effective on Virginia Buttonweed
By Ja on 07/13/2022
Bought this specifically for Virginia Buttonweed (as listed in the specimen label). Applied spot treatments as directed but absolutely no success. It didn't even suppress the Virginia Buttonweed. Not so much worried about the money, but wasted my time and efforts. Cheaper options for common broadleaf control, hence the 1 star rating.
Expert response:
Thank you for taking the time to review this product. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the performance of this product. Please keep in mind that when treating for Virginia Buttonweed, selective post-emergent herbicides should be applied in April or May at the latest, when the weed first appears in your lawn and is young and tender in it's earliest stage of growth. In the mid-summer months, when the weeds are fully established and strong, you will need multiple applications to have any effect whatsoever on this difficult to control weed, regardless of the product you are using. You may also want to refer to our Virginia Buttonweed Treatment Guide linked below for more detailed information on controlling this weed. We appreciate your business!
