    Q
Can Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh be used to cover rectangular vent openings underneath soffits?
    A
Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh works best in holes and cracks around 2 inches in diameter. Any area larger than that, you should seek a different material. Perhaps a piece of hardware cloth with a small mesh weave would work best for you. The folks at your local home improvement store may have advice for you as well.

  • Asked by Tony
    02/15/2020
    Q
Will Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh keep out sewer roaches?
    A

Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh would not be small or fine enough to keep sewer roaches out of an area. If they are coming into the home from city sewer lines, you will want to reach out to your local county officials to see what steps are being taken to control them on the city/county level. You can always safely use a product like Nibor-D to mix with water and flush down toilets and drains as it is a natural product and will coat the food and debris the roaches are feeding on. You can also do this if you have a septic tank. If the roaches are already infesting the home and you need to eliminate them, we would recommend going with one of our Roach Control Kits. You can see how to use the kits by following our guide on How to Treat for Roaches, which includes step by step instructions as well as videos.

  • Asked by Pam from Novato, Ca
    01/25/2020
    Q
Will STUF-FIT Copper Mesh deter woodpeckers from making holes on siding?
    A

STUF-FIT Copper Mesh will not deter Woodpeckers. Most of the time woodpeckers are attacking your home because it is finding food under your siding, or insects. Sometimes applying a liquid insecticide, like our Talstar product in the area where the bird is doing damage, will kill any pests behind the siding and therefore if there is no more food, the bird will go elsewhere. You can try other non-spraying methods by placing reflective tape in the area or a fake owl or other bird of prey to deter the woodpecker.

  • Asked by Cassandra from Los Angeles, Ca

    Q
Are there pictures of Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh after it's been applied?
I'm a visual gal and I am going to try and tackle my rodent problem by myself. I cannot imagine HOW the mesh is supposed to look AFTER it's applied around pipes + openings. Do you have any pictures that you could post on your website?? Thanks.
    A

There is a great video that addresses rodent exclusion in Step 1 of our Rodent Prevention Article that includes the use of Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh. You may want to consider using a permanent sealing foam such as Pur Black Foam over the Stuf-Fit to prevent rodents from removing it.

    Q
What can I use with Copper Mesh to fill a half inch gap around my mobile home?
    A

You can use a variety of materials with the Stuf-Fit Copper Mesh to fill holes and gaps around the home that rodents or insects may try to enter through. We have an Xcluder Kit that includes a 4 inch wide x 10 feet long roll of Xcluder fabric, safety gloves, and scissors. If you don’t need the safety gloves and scissors we do have rolls of just the Xcluder Strips as well. You can also use an expanding and hardening foam like you find in tubes/cans at local hardware stores such as Home Depot.
