    Q
Why can't you spray Suspend SC on concrete?
    A

Suspend SC should be applied on non-porous surfaces for best results.  Because it is a liquid concentrate, it wouldn’t bind to a porous surface such as concrete to give you the best pest protection.  A better product for that type of porous exterior surface would be Demon WP.

    Q
    Suspend SC for spider mites?
Had spider mites in my indoor garden if I empty the garden and treat with Suspend SC will that rid me of the spider mites?
    A
Suspend SC is not labeled to treat spider mites so we would not recommend it.  Most folks choose a product such as Talstar P as it is labeled for spider mites and is known to be gentle on plants.

    Q
What is the fish pond impact of spraying Suspend SC?
We have a fish pond about 10 feet from the house. Once we spray around the house, could this impact the fish?
    A

Suspend SC does have toxicity to aquatic life, so you want to be sure that runoff or drift does not enter the fish pond. We would recommend spraying when rainfall is not expected within at least 24 hours. You could also consider a product near the pond that does not have aquatic toxicity such as EcoVia EC

    Q
    flea problems
I want something to spray on the my carpets and couch. It says you can but then discourages putting on the couches. I have a 5 year old and a three year old so it concerns me chemicals but something has to be done. Please help. What is the best Suspend SC or would Demize ER work better?
    A

Suspend SC is a good option for fleas. You would need to mix an IGR (insect growth regulator) with it to make sure the fleas do not reproduce. We would recommend the same with Demize EC. These products should be added to water and directly applied with a gallon sprayer to problem areas such as rugs, carpets, furniture, pet bedding, baseboards, and cracks and crevices

We would recommend using Ultracide. It contains an insecticide, as well as an IGR (insect growth regulator). This will stop the fleas from reproducing. It is safe to spray on your furniture. This will kill the flea larvae and eggs as well as the adult fleas. You will do your first treatment and then vacuum daily for 14 days and do a second treatment. Sometimes a third and/or fouth treatment is necessary.

We would not recommend spraying when the children are in the room. Once the products have had time to dry, 2-4 hours, they can return to the room(s) that have been treated.

    Q
Will a mixed batch create an odor over time?
I've been using Suspend SC for about a year. I normally make a gallon at a time and use about 1/2 gallon per treatment. This batch (made a month ago) smelled like rotten eggs. Going forward, I'm going to only make as much as I need, but I'm curious if leaving the mix for a month caused the odor. It's never happened before. Thanks!
    A
Yes, leaving a mixed batch of Suspend SC may cause the mixed soulution to have a foul odor if left in the sprayer for an extended period of time. You should always mix what you need and perform a triple rinse when you are done.

    Q
    What kills flying ants?
How do you get rid of giant black flying ants?
    A
The winged flying ants will usually die in short order on their own because they are not able to fly off and secure a new nesting area for themselves. If you want to speed along the process you can use Microcare, a pyrethrin based aerosol. You should note that winged ants indoors most likely indicates an ant infestation somewhere in the home or under the home. You should carefully inspect the bathroom and try to find where the ants are emerging. You may even try to get a trail to start by placing a notecard with a dab of peanut butter and a dab of honey. Do NOT disturb the ant trail. By getting the ants to start a trail you will be able to figure out where the ants are entering into the bathroom and you will be able to directly treat the area with a product like Phantom or with ant baits. Please take a few minutes to read our article Getting rid of ants to learn more.

    Q
Can you spray Suspend SC on electrical circuits?
    A
Spraying Suspend or any liquid in electrical wiring of any sort is not recommended. This would be an extreme shock hazard and damage your equipment and wiring. We recommend applying dust in those areas. Depending on what you are treating for you could use a dust like Delta Dust.

    Q
How to treat for termites in Arizona.
Also, I have only noticed a few termite mud trails on my foundation outside. I want to nip the problem as soon as possible. I have read that termites can come from mulch or wood chip areas. Is this true? What is a good, general indoor/outdoor pesticide that I can use to kill other bugs?? Bifenthrin, deltamethrin, or permethrin? I currently use the store bought Ortho home defense, which I believe has Bifenthrin as the active ingredient. This has worked ok but I want to start using professional strength and mixing myself. Which is best?
    A
For general insect control outdoors you can use Suspend SC. This contains deltamethrin and is a professional grade strength. If you would like to continue using bifenthrin - consider Talstar P which contains 7.9 % bifenthrin.

    Q
Will Suspend SC harm frogs at my home?
Will it kill the food supply for the frogs? What are other options to get rid of spiders and not the frogs. I also have salamanders that I like. Do not want to chase them away.
    A

Suspend SC could harm amphibians if they were sprayed directly with the product. You should not apply Suspend SC in a way that would contaminate water containing aquatic life. This is a non-selective insecticide, so it will kill flying insects that are sprayed directly or which contact the treated areas, including flies which would be desirable to frogs and other amphibians. If you are reducing the flying insect population, then these predators may go elsewhere to find food. If you would like to use an insecticide that is safer around aquatic areas, then Essentria IC3 is a great choice.

    Q
I used Suspend SC for roaches and there are tons more roaches now. Does that mean it's working?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled for roaches and should do a great job helping you eliminate the infestation. It is possile that after the first application you may see a couple of more roaches than before, but you should start to see some results after 3-4 weeks. This product is designed to kill insects, including roaches, that cross it’s path. It is not designed to eradicate roaches alone in every situation. We recommend, that in addition to a concentrated liquid insecticide like Suspend SC, you also use a high quality roach bait gel indoors such as Maxforce FC Magnum to help get the roaches that hide in places where you cannot spray (cabinets, counter tops, drawers) as well as an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to help stop the breeding cycle of the roaches. You can purchase both of these products together in our Roach Control Kit Rotation A. Instead of Suspend SC, Temprid FX is included in the kit in it’s place. Please take a moment to review our How to Get Rid of Roaches Guide for more information on implementing a successful treatment plan.
