  • Asked by Chad from Columbus, Oh

    Q
Will Suspend SC and Gentrol IGR combined eradicate ants completely?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled for ants. Gentrol IGR is not labeled for ants. Getting rid of ants can be tough because of their opportunistic nature. Most species are able to nest indoors and outdoors in a wide variety of places and they can survive on a wide variety of food sources. To effectively get rid of ants you usually need to include proper indoor and outdoor sanitation as well as an actual pesticide treatment which includes a mixture of baiting and spraying.

We would recommend using our Outdoor/Indoor Ant Kit. It comes with everything you will need to do a complete ant treatment.

Please check out our Ant Guide for information on how to treat and prevent ants as well.

    Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra and Suspend SC be mixed?
    A

Since both products contain synthetic pyrethroids there is no valid reason to mix Suspend SC and Tempo together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects lessening the effectiveness of the treatment.

    Q
Is Suspend SC effective to eliminate German roaches?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled to eradicate roaches including German roaches that come into contact with the treated areas. This should not be the only product used for treatment. We recommend that you incorporate an insect growth regulator (IGR) and a professional roach bait gel (in areas that are not treated with Suspend SC). Please take a few moments to review our treatment article, How to Get Rid of Roaches Article, for more helpful information.

  • Asked by Nick from Ca
    06/21/2012
    Q
Does Suspend SC work to get rid of June Bugs? Does it also work on the larvae and eggs in the lawn?
    How should it be applied?
    A
Suspend Sc will help eliminate adult June bugs that contact treated areas. Suspend SC should be diluted with water at the listed usage rate on the product label and applied when the pests are present. Thorough coverage is required and higher volumes of water may be necessary to ensure both the top and underside of the leaves of the foliage are sprayed. Suspend SC will not work to control insect eggs or for grubs (larval form of beetles). Most insecticides will not kill insect eggs because the eggs are protected by their hard outer shell. For grub control in your lawn you can use one of our grub control granule products such as Dylox or Merit Granules.

  • Asked by Brittany

    Q
Does Suspend SC work for tent caterpillars? They are horrible in our area.
    A
Yes. Suspend SC is labeled for Tent Caterpillars. Directly spray the plant foliage and nest. The larvae are usually easy to contact if spraying is done in late morning when the larvae congregate on the tent surface to warm in the sun. Mechanical control is also helpful with this pest. The egg masses are easy to spot after the leaves have dropped in the fall. Simply clip off and crush or drop into a bucket of soapy water.

I am not sure if I am trying to treat silverfish or springtails insects. Is Suspend sc good for both?
My home holds alot of moisture and I find these insects on siding of house, near air conditioner, in sink, in between cracks of cincrete, moist, dark areas, and occasionally through vents of my home. What is the best solution. I currently am using Suspend SC. Help?
    A
Suspend SC is a great product and will treat for both Springtails and Silverfish. We would recommend having the pest identified, because there are baits that can be used for Silverfish. If you can take a clear pictire, please email it to [email protected]

  • Asked by Ron from Modesto, Ca
    07/29/2016
    Q
Can there be resistance issues after 4 years of using Suspend SC for roach control?
Has a resistance developed? Please recommend a different insecticide. Problem appears to be coming from the neighbors because it is always at the perimeter of the property, none in the house, but it may be approaching.
    A

We recommend rotating between insecticides at least once a year to prevent resistance issues. Even though Suspend SC is an effective product, after 4 years of continuous use, it is possible that resistance has been developed. There is a variety of products you can rotate to, Temprid SC, Suspend Polyzone, Talstar P, and Phantom Termiticide/Insecticide, just to name a few.

    Q
Can I apply Suspend SC or Suspend Polyzone with a backpack powered mistblower? Why or Why not?
    A

We contacted Solo and they said that any herbicide or insecticide (including Suspend SC and Suspend Polyzone) can be used in the Solo Mist Blower 451. So any product that would be diluted with water in the tank will work fine.

  • Asked by Jack from Atlanta, Ga
    04/02/2015
    Q
I checked with Bayer and they say that Suspend "suppresses" mites meaning it only kills 50% so not sure you
can say it is that effective. Also says this on the label. Have your customers found it effective for bird mites?
    A
Suspend SC is not labeled for bird mites and we do not recommend it for that use. Susped is successfully used for plant infesting mites. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
Will Suspend SC kill bed bugs?
    A
Suspend SC will kill most strains of bed bugs. However, we do not recommend Suspend any longer. There are resistant strains of bed bugs Suspend will not kill. This is why we recommend one of our Bed Bug Kits.

  • Asked by Kori from Kentucky
    11/08/2015
    Q
Am I using Suspend SC correctly for bedbugs?
I ordered Suspend SC a few weeks ago, it has not helped with our bedbugs. The infestation is not tgat bad but we live in an apt and I believe our neighbor has them. Our sons are both allergic to bug bites, what can we do different, or are we doing something wrong?
    A

Suspend SC used to be the go to product for bed bug control. However, there have been signs that some strains of bed begs have become resistant to it since it has been used so much. Still, bed bug control has much better success if you use a variety of products. Our bed bug kits have many products that are considered the top bed bug control products and our kits also come with full instructions. They have a very high success rate with our customers and your best chance of eliminating a bed bug infestation. Also, even using the best products it will take time to eliminate the entire problem at hand. Theres no way of knowing just how many are there and it can take weeks to even a few months to get rid of every last one depending on the level of infestation and how thorough you are being with your weekly retreatments. If your neighbor has them, that should not be affecting your apartment unless they are heavy in the other unit, you have brought something from their unit into yours to allow them to spread, or unless they are doing improper treatments in their unit to cause them to spread.

You can go over all the proper steps it takes to effectively eliminate bedbugs by browsing the how to videos and step by step instructins in our guide.

  • Asked by Cory from Irmo, Sc
    09/12/2014
    Q
I purchased Talstar P and absolutely love it. Should I purchase another product and alternate?
I was wondering if the insects would develop an immunity over time to the Talstar P. If so what product should I buy to use every other time, altering with Talstar P?
    A

    We appreciate your business!

It is possible that certain strains of bugs could build up a resistance to certain products. Alternating products would be a good idea. We would recommend using Suspend SC. It works the same way as Talstar P, but it has a different active ingredient. It can be used indoors and outdoors. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • Asked by Robert from Chesapeake, Va
    06/25/2014
    Q
Can Suspend SC be used to control ticks? If so, at what mixing ratio?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled for treating ticks outdoors. You should mix 1.5 fluid ounces per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. We recommend adding an insect growth regulator (IGR) such as Pivot 10 to impede the insects reproductive cycle.
