    Q
Are Gentrol and Suspend SC the proper treatment to kill bed bugs?
if so what is the mixture ratio? Help!!
    A

We do not usually recommend Suspend for bedbug treatments because of the risk of resistance. Please take a look at our bedbug kits to see the products we recommend for bedbug treatments: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/bed-bug-kits-c-39_97.html

You will notice that there are several product formulations in each kit and this is to guard against resistance issues.

  • Asked by Tom from Greenwood,ms
    06/18/2013
    Q
How would you apply Suspend SC outdoors for mosquitoes and no-see-um gnats?
    A
For mosquitoes, no-see-ums and other insects, you would mix the Suspend SC at the rate of .25-1.5 ounces per gallon of water and lightly spray the areas where they would harbor such as bushes, ornamentals and trees nearby. You can spray around window and door frames of the home to help keep the population from entering, and you can spray once every 30 days for continuous control over the pests. In conjunction try to limit the amount of water sources around your home that they can use to breed in. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Asked by Nick from Ca
    06/21/2012
    Q
Does Suspend SC work to get rid of June Bugs? Does it also work on the larvae and eggs in the lawn?
    How should it be applied?
    A
Suspend Sc will help eliminate adult June bugs that contact treated areas. Suspend SC should be diluted with water at the listed usage rate on the product label and applied when the pests are present. Thorough coverage is required and higher volumes of water may be necessary to ensure both the top and underside of the leaves of the foliage are sprayed. Suspend SC will not work to control insect eggs or for grubs (larval form of beetles). Most insecticides will not kill insect eggs because the eggs are protected by their hard outer shell. For grub control in your lawn you can use one of our grub control granule products such as Dylox or Merit Granules.

  • Asked by Melany from Milwaukee, Wi

    Q
What is the best (and safest) product to get rid of centipedes?
I live in a four-unit apartment building. There is a partially covered sump pump in the basement.
    A

Suspend SC would be a good choice to use around the inside and outside of your home to eliminate centipedes. Suspend SC is safe for people and pets when used as directed on the product label.  Indoors you can apply Suspend SC to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, and any other place where the insects can gain entry. Outdoors you should apply the product to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, around the bottom of the foundation and out onto the ground directly around the foundation. You can also limit favorable conditions that the centipedes need to thrive.

    Remove Favorable Conditions

    • Fix leaky faucets or pipes and dry up wet or damp areas where centipedes thrive
    • Remove outdoor harborages near the home that hold moisture (compost, wood, or leaf piles, etc).
    • Store firewood off the ground at least 20 feet away from the home
    • Water your lawn in the morning so that it will be dry by afternoon
    • Do not over mulch flower beds, since soggy mulch is an ideal harborage for centipedes

    Q
    Spraying Suspend SC ON LUGGAGE
With major Bed Bug Infestations accross the United States and Hotels and Motels being a considerable risk i was wonder if spraying suspend sc on luggage would help minimize the chances of bed beds from hitch hiking , and also if there is a health risk to .
    A
Suspend SC is not labeled for use on luggage most likely because of the risk of it getting on clothing that you will then wear next to your skin. We do carry JT Eaton Bedbug Luggage Spray that is specifically formulated to use on luggage and even on beds in hotel rooms. Using the JT Eaton luggage spray would help minimize the chance of spreading bedbugs back to your home. You should also read our article How to Avoid Hotel Bedbugs so that you will be more informed on what to do or what to avoid doing while you travel to help minimize the chance that you will bring home bedbugs with you.

    Q
How would I go about preparing my rooms for indoor spraying of Suspend SC?
Can clothes and shoes be kept in the room? So long as they aren't beig directly sprayed? (For example, can I put them in the middle of the room until the Suspend dried, or should I take them out entirely??) Also, I have a Boston Terrier, is suspend sc safe for her? If so, how long does she have to be away from the area I order not to get harmed? If she does get harmed, what symptoms can I look out for to get her Vetrenatian care as soon as possible?
    A
Suspend SC is safe for humans and animals to be around after the treated area has dried. This normally takes approx. 1-2 hours. As long as your belongings are not directly sprayed Suspend will pose no harm. Please be sure to follow the product label application instructions.

  • Asked by Ekaterina from Nyc

    Q
For how long is Suspend SC potent?
The apartment where we moved in has been exterminated 1 year ago. We just found out about it and we have a 10 month old baby, who crawls all around, so we are worried if there is a chance of her getting harmed. I have washed all the walls and floors in the apartment, but there is still some odor around some cracks and the apartment also has the same odor, which I feel when I enter from the outside. I am also worried that when I washed the walls, water got in the cracks and made Suspend SC more potent.
    A
Suspend SC does not a have a year long residual. If the treated areas were washed, it does not create the product to reactivate. Suspend SC is safe if applied and dried prior to children and pets entering the areas that you have recently treated. Please refer to the product label and MSDS for additional information.

  • Asked by Rob

    Q
Why can't you spray Suspend SC on concrete?
    A

Suspend SC should be applied on non-porous surfaces for best results.  Because it is a liquid concentrate, it wouldn’t bind to a porous surface such as concrete to give you the best pest protection.  A better product for that type of porous exterior surface would be Demon WP.

  • Asked by Lilly from Phila, Pa
    08/31/2013
    Q
Can I mix suspend sc and tempo sc to kill bed bugs?
    A
Since both products contain synthetic pyrethroids there is no valid reason to mix Suspend SC and Tempo together, it would not make either product work better or produce better results, though it could make treated areas repellent to insects lessening the effectiveness of the treatment. Instead you may want to choose a product that has dual active ingredients such as Transport or Temprid. This will help avoid any type of resistance issue since both of the products contain two active ingredients from different classes of insecticides.
