SUSPEND SC Insecticide with DeltaGard offers the benefits of deltamethrin in a concentrated suspension of pure micro-crystals. The micro-crystals give Suspend SC a long residual (up to 3 months), and instead of being absorbed into porous materials, they stay on the surface. As a result, insects continue to contact them long after the insecticide has been applied. Yet Suspend SC leaves no visible residue, has virtually no odor, and won't clog spray equipment.
Suspend SC is a residual concentrate in the synthetic pyrethroid family of insecticides. The active ingredient Deltamethrin kills by acting as a high-power poison to the insect's central nervous system. Once poisoned, the insect’s nerve cells become excited, causing paralysis and eventual death. Suspend SC is diluted with water and applied with a sprayer. Once the product has dried, pests easily pick up the millions of microscopic particles left behind, and the active ingredient kills by contact and ingestion. Though Suspend SC is deadly to insects, it is very gentle on people and pets, when used properly, and is labeled for outdoor and indoor crack and crevice use.
The formulation of Suspend SC is a Suspended Concentrate, meaning finely ground particles of the active ingredient are suspended in water. Suspend SC has no additional solvents, but it does contain surfactants to help suspend the solid particles and biocides to prevent microbial growth and extend the shelf life.
Suspend SC controls a wide variety of crawling, flying, turf, and ornamental pests found in and around households, including, but not limited to, ants, bed bugs, beetles, boxelder bugs, chinch bugs, fleas, mosquitos, pantry pests, roaches, and spiders.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Deltamethrin - 4.75%
*** ALWAYS READ THE PRODUCT LABEL COMPLETELY BEFORE USE ***
1 Pint (16 oz.) of Suspend SC concentrate yields 10-64 gallons of finished solution, depending on mixing rate used. 1 Gallon (128 oz) of concentrate yields 85 to over 500 gallons of finished solution. One gallon of finished solution should cover approximately 1,000 square feet.
Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for Suspend SC:
Residential, industrial, and institutional control in and around households and other structures; commercial and residential turf and landscape ornamental plants; non-food and non-feed areas of Aircraft (cargo only), Apartment buildings, Bakeries, Bottling facilities, Breweries, Buses, Cafeterias, Candy plants, Canneries, Dairy product processing plants, Food manufacturing plants, Food processing plants, Food service establishments, Granaries & grain mills, Hospitals, Hotels, Houses, Industrial buildings, Installations, Kitchens, Laboratories, Mausoleums, Meat, poultry & egg processing & packaging plants, Mobile & motor homes, Nursing homes, Offices, Railcars, Restaurants, Schools, Ships & vessels, Trailers, Trucks, Warehouses, Wineries; carports, garages, storage sheds, unoccupied horse stables and pet kennels; athletic fields, recreational areas, residential landscapes, parks
Suspend SC may be applied as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in residential buildings and structures. Use 0.25-0.75 fl. oz./gal. of water for most treatments. Treat where pests are found or normally occur, such as around floors, baseboards, expansion joints, around water and sewer pipes, and voids formed by equipment or appliances. For spot applications, use a low pressure system with a fan-type nozzle to apply spot treatments. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor covering. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur.
Suspend SC Insecticide can be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control insect and arthropod pests in walls, under slabs or in other void areas.
Bed bugs – Remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply to mattresses as a spot treatment, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. Apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed. We do not recommend Suspend SC as the sole treatment for bed bugs - instead it is recommended to use a variety of bed bug control products. There is also a high risk of resistance when using Suspend SC for bedbug treatment. See Get Rid of Bed Bugs for complete treatment recommendations.
Carpet Beetles, Fleas and Ticks – A total integrated pest management program is recommended. It is suggested that infested areas be thoroughly vacuumed prior to treatment. These areas include all carpet, upholstered furniture, baseboards and other indoor areas frequented by pets. The vacuum cleaner bag should be discarded in an outdoor trash container upon completion. Pet bedding should be cleaned or replaced. Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a uniform coarse low-pressure spot or crack and crevice treatment to areas where these pests normally inhabit. Care should be taken to limit spot treatments to pet bedding and its surrounding area, infested floor coverings and pest habitats. Do not treat entire area of floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Restrict applications to furniture where no prolonged contact by humans will occur. Do not allow people or pets to contact treated areas until spray has dried. This product can be used with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). Effective flea control includes controlling the source of flea infestations. This can require treatment of pets with a product registered by EPA for such use and treating outside areas frequented by pets. Suspend SC Insecticide can also be applied out-of-doors for flea control. Do NOT treat pets with this product.
Use Suspend SC Insecticide to control outdoor pests by application as either a perimeter treatment, residual spray or broadcast application to lawns, grounds, and ornamental plantings.
For residual control, apply Suspend SC as a coarse low-pressure spray at the rate of 0.75 to 1.5 fl. oz./gal. of water to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, refuse dumps, garages, and lawns.
Fire ants - Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a drench. Dilute 1.5 fl oz per one gallon of water. Gently sprinkle 1 to 2 gallons of the diluted insecticide over the surface of each mound and surrounding area to a 2-foot diameter. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65 to 80°F or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Pressurized sprays may disturb the ants and cause migration, reducing product effectiveness.
Turf-grass applications – Uniform coverage is essential. Apply Suspend SC as a broadcast application using a conventional hydraulic boom-type sprayer or similar suitable equipment using a minimum of 2 gallons of water per 1000 square feet and 0.4 to 0.9 fl. oz./1000 sq. ft. (17.5 to 39 oz. per Acre). Delay irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application for surface feeders such as cutworms and webworms. For sub-surface feeders such as mole crickets, irrigate with 0.25 to 0.5 inch of water immediately after application.
Ornamantel pests – Apply 4 to 8 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water. Apply when pests become evident. Thorough coverage is required for best results. Apply with sufficient water to ensure coverage of upper and lower leaf surfaces.
See complete product label for additional instructions on outdoor applications.

Suspends the bugs
By Retired on 10/27/2008
Yes, that is right, Suspend SC suspends the bugs. It is so easy to apply and has no smell to it. I am glad to have found this website so I could do my own exterminating. If you can wash your hands or make a sandwich you can apply these chemicals. Make sure you buy a good pump sprayer at least as good as the one on this website for around $49. The first application will pay for itself. No more expensive visits from these so called professionals. Take it from me, retired early, I did not retire early by spending all my money. Good luck.

Highly recommend
By Doyle on 06/08/2007
Before spraying with Suspend SC, both my home and the homes around me were infested badly with roaches, spiders, ants and centipedes. After spraying the perimeter of my home and the inside with Suspend SC, I was sweeping up roaches, centipedes and spiders by the hundreds for about three days. then I would find roaches and centipedes that had tried to cross the boundaries I had treated. They would die within about six feet of crossing it. I would recommend it for the novice or for the professional over all other products. I would recommend all the products from this company as excellent.

This product works!
By Aj on 10/09/2008
We live in a valley that is also backed by woods. I just ordered Suspend SC this year to use for asian beetles. Every year since we moved into our older house they would come about this time (the first couple weeks of october) and they literally cover the outside of our home. They get into everything, our laundry, light fixtures, food, etc. They stink and stain everything. The only way we could do anything was by vacuuming them. But I told my husband I wasn't ruining another $500 vacuum because of this problem anymore. I did some research and found this site (sooo glad) because a few days ago we sprayed the entire outside of the house, especially the windows. As I sit here right now typing, there are no lady bugs entering my house! Last year at this time I would already have my vacuum out. I went outside and looked on the house and there are hardly any landing on the spray, and those that do seem to be dying quickly. I cannot thank this site enough. I am deadly afraid of spiders and get them bad in my basement as well, but after reading other reviews I guess I won't be worry about those either!

Outstanding results!
By Dave on 08/22/2008
I bought a place in the woods and the spiders were very bad in my basement. My wife said I needed to do something or the washing was not going to get done (washer and dryer in basement). So I tried Suspend SC and the results are outstanding. It's like a bad massacre. The bugs don't have a chance. Suspend is the best at a good price.

if so what is the mixture ratio? Help!!
We do not usually recommend Suspend for bedbug treatments because of the risk of resistance. Please take a look at our bedbug kits to see the products we recommend for bedbug treatments: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/bed-bug-kits-c-39_97.html
You will notice that there are several product formulations in each kit and this is to guard against resistance issues.

In some of your previously answered questions, you mention that Suspend SC can't be used directly on indoor carpeting and should be limited to spot use in these scenarios. On the Suspend SC brochure from the Bayer website they mention that the product is safe for use on carpets and even on mattresses. Why the contradiction? Did previous formulas of the product disallow this type of application?

Fleas in house
Ultracide is a ready to use aerosol can that contains an insecticide and insect growth regulator. You do not need to also use Suspend SC, which cannot be used on carpets inside so is not recommended for inside flea control. We do have a great guide here on "How to Get Rid of Fleas" that will give helpful advice on what should be done.
Unfortunately, per the product label the maximum mix rate of Suspend SC is 1.5 fl oz per gallon of water depending on the insects you are targeting. We cannot advise mixing insecticides at a higher rate than the product label by the manufacturer due to a few reasons.
The product labels for insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc have been reviewed and approved by the EPA and, therefore, provides the legally amount allowed to be applied per application or per year for that pesticide or herbicide. The Label is the Law.
Second, the manufacturers and reseach teams spend months/years and money into into developing and testing products before product labels are issued, approved and available for retail. The application rates listed on the product labels have been proven scientifically to be effective for treating the pests/weeds/diseases on that label therefore mixing at a higher rate than what is recommended is not going to necessarily going to be better or give faster results. In fact, using too much product can cause undesired effects like insect repellency, unnecessary risk to people and non-target animals, and simply wasting your time and money.

Suspend SC should not be applied in a steamer. We recommed steaming first and then apply Suspend SC with a pump sprayer to cracks and crevices quarterly.

Should I spray the Suspend SC inside as well as outside the screened porch, deck and onto the lawn to get rid of this infestation of the stink bugs? Do I have to reapply in the spring as well?

Even though I use flea drops monthly since March. Have fogged with HotShot twice. Started using Suspend 1 1/2 weeks ago, sprayed the whole house (no carpets in home) the basement, attic, main living area and continue to spray every other day. I have been using flea shampoo and the flea spray product Petcor once a week, still I have fleas. HELP!! The fleas are less but not gone. The cats are being kept inside for a month now. I don't know what else to do
The main thing to know when dealing with fleas is that there is no overnight fix for them, it can take multiple applications to completely eliminate them sometimes 2-3 treatments or more. You also want to make sure that you are following the instructions on the product labels that you are using. Suspend SC is not labeled to be used anymore often than once every 21 days. Per the product label for indoor applications, you should also only apply as a coarse, low pressure crack and crevice spot treatment to problem areas and infested habitats. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur. Care should be taken to limit spot treatment to pet beds and infested floor coverings. Suspend SC would not be a good choice for indoor flea control because it can not be used over carpeted areas, it must be kept to cracks and crevices only.
For indoors, we would highly recommend our Indoor Flea Kit. It is our most popular product for indoor flea control and is usually the final treatment that people end up using that works when they have tried everything else.

My wife and I live in a small 3 bedroom house and have been having some problems with carpet beetles. We did a good vacuuming last fall and had no additional problems through the winter. Now this past week in March as the weather is starting to warm, I've been noticing adult beetles crawling around, more so in the kitchen area. We do not know how where they are getting in. They like to hang out around the stove and refrigerator (where we did a very thorough cleaning last fall because of them). We also noticed some larvae behind our couch because it's up against a wall and also under our bed around the baseboards. I have two questions: 1. Can this be applied to crevices where the baseboard meets the carpet? I was not sure if this would be OK or not since carpet is porous. I would only be treating the crevices, not the entire carpet area of course. Is this an acceptable application of the product? Or would I need something specifically for porous services? 2. I want to try doing the pest control on my own, but my main concern is obviously the safety of my child and pets. I know that this is safe for pets and kids after things have dried, but our child is 16 months old and into everything. I obviously would allow time for the product to completely dry. But say my kid decides for some reason he wan't to lick the carpet in the area that was treated and dried, (even though we try to keep an eye on him at all times), would there be a danger if something like that were to happen? Same question if a pet licked a dry treated area. These are my two main concerns about doing the treatment myself. Your answers are truly appreciated.
