TakeDown II Soft Bait is a professional soft bromethalin bait that combines the palatability of a soft bait with an acute rodenticide. It’s ideal for use against heavy rodent populations and anticoagulant-resistant rodent populations, especially in commercial settings. A lethal dose can be consumed in just one feeding and you can begin to see dead rodents in as little as 1 day post-feeding.

Rats prefer Takedown to Fastrac
By Joshua on 03/10/2025
I previously used Fastrac blocks which worked just OK. I had some Fastrac blocks left at the bottom of the pail, filled a bait station half and half with the Fastrac and Takedown. First time, whole thing was gone, second time whole thing was gone, third time, only the Fastrac were nibbled on. fourth time, only Fastrac were gone. Seems Rats in Northern California prefer it. Currently using JT Eaton 902 top loading bait stations screwed to the top of a fence rail with it, works great. Seems to work great, and it's available in California.

There is a risk of secondary poisoning with TakeDown II Soft Bait. However, a dog would need to consume 15% of his body weight of TakeDown II Soft Bait via a poisoned rodent for it to be fatal. Typically, pets do not "eat" dead rodents, instead they see them as a toy and tend to play with them rather than consume them.
