Yes, Talstar PL granules are labeled for crane flies. According to the product label, it should be used early to mid-season to control the larvae of crane flies. This application should be made between August-February during times when the ground is not frozen as they feed on plant crowns. If treatments are made in March-April, they may only provide suppression. Consult your local extensions agent for specific recommendations for your area.
As long as the reptiles are out of the area while you are doing the actual application of the Talstar and until it is watered in and dry, it shouldn't effect them. You will most likely see a reduction in the reptile populations on your property though as you will be eliminating their food source (insects). Take precaution not to apply to areas with pet snakes.
If you apply Talstar PL Granules over mulch it can work for pests that crawl over those areas. For a more effective treatment though, we would recommend moving the mulch and applying the granules in that area, that way pests that like moisture and usually hide under mulch like centipedes, millipedes, silverfish, etc. can come in contact with the residual.
Talstar PL Granular Insecticide can typically last 2-3 months after applied and watered in after application.
Talstar PL Granules does not control moles or voles. We do carry products for them.
