    Q
Grasshoppers, plague proportions, what's the recommended product?
I would like to use a hose end sprayer with the water hose. I see the video of a gallon jug - being used only around the edges and crevises. I've got to cover the entire ground.
    A
You can use Talstar P to cover non fruit bearing trees, lawns, bushes, shrubs and other areas excluding edible vegetation. Talstar P can be used in a hose end sprayer and should be diluted 1 fl oz per gallon of water for the fastest knockdown and the longest lasting residual for grasshopper control.

    Q
Can I use a hose end sprayer with a siphon tube with Bifen XTS or Talstar?
I am treating my lawn and trees (1,000 sq. ft.) where the hose end sprayer would make the job easier.
    A

We would recommend that, if you really need to use a hose-end sprayer, you use Talstar P. P. Please refer to the label for proper application.

    Q
How much Talstar P should I put in a 50 gal sprayer?
I'v got fleas at my house so I bought a rig for my Big Yard.
    A
When treating your yard for fleas with Talstar P you can use anywhere between 0.5 ounces and 1 oz per gallon of water. So anywhere between 25 and 50 ounces to your 50 gallon sprayer. Keep in mind when treating for fleas, its important to use an IGR (insect birth control) to help stop the reproductive cycle. If you only use a portion of the yard closest to the home you could just mix the IGR with the Talstar and spray them both in those areas that you frequent the most or the pets frequent. We would recommend NyGuard IGR to mix in your tank.

    Q
How to use Cyonara 9.7 for outdoor mosquito control?
I have been using Flit 10EC for mosquito control, mixing about 8 oz per gallon of water. In mid morning or afternoon, once mosquitoes have retreated to the shade of the foliage, I'll spray on, in and under our evergreens and deciduous bushes, as well as spraying the foliage on the edge of our property as a repellent. We are bordered by forest and about 1/2 mile from mosquito heaven (water and designated wetland). We have had a very wet spring and summer in Chicago. The Flit has done pretty well- especially compared to our neighbors- but I'd like something better, and I am using about 12 gallons of mix per treatment. So would you recommend the Cyonara for my purpose and at what concentrate/water ratio? Does the Cyonara have a longer residual than permethrin? Can I use it as a residual/repellent for wasps/yellow jackets on wooden and plastic play sets (they now need regular monitoring for new nests).
    A

Talstar P is our most popular selling product for mosquito control.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using any hand pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.  The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or patio you are trying to provide relief at.  It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants, but on the underside of the leaves as well which is where the mosquitoes hang out.  It should be applied every 30 days for optimum control.  It is also very good for bees and wasps, however you would not want to apply it or any other product directly to play sets where children will touch treated surfaces.  Also, Talstar P is labeled for over 100 different insects and will work in just about any situation.

    Q
Which product(s) would you recommend to kill mosquitos, ants, roaches, biting gnats (or flies) outdoors?
Note: I have a sink hole in backyard with damp leaves, pinestraw, etc., and filling it in with dirt hasn't worked b/c it keeps settling over time. Also, I have gutter covers and know there is breeding there as well, but I cannot get into gutters to clear a few clumps of debris, so I'm wondering if there is a solution for that problem too? THANK YOU!
    A
Talstar P would be a great product for the mosquitoes, ants, roaches and gnats. It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using a sprayer.  You will need about 1 fl oz of product diluted into 1 gallon of water for every 1,000 sq ft of space you need to treat. The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or patio where you are trying to provide relief.  It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants, but on the underside of the leaves as well which is where the mosquitoes hang out. Talstar P can also be applied to your lawn, exterior of your home for barrier insect control and indoors to control current infestations. Talstar should be applied every 30 days for optimum control. If you don't find a way to alleviate the moisture in the sink hole and in the gutters you will have a constant influx of new mosquitoes and gnats. While Talstar P may help limit their numbers you will keep seeing these pests.

    Q
Can an Ortho Dial and Spray be used to spread Talstar P?
Have sod webworms and need to spray 15000 sq ft lawn. If so what setting?
    A

You can use a hose-end sprayer to apply Talstar P. You shoul use 1 oz per 1000 sq ft, and we recommend using 1-3 gallons of water per 1,000 sq ft. Keep in mind that it is most important to use the correct amount of concentrate and then think of the water as a carrier, so it is better to use a bit more water than to use too little. For example, to treat half your yard, you would use 7.5 oz at a rate no higher than 1 oz per gal of water, but usually it is best to use a rate of 0.3 or 0.5 oz per gal of water with a hose-end sprayer. You can always start with a small area and test using just water to get an idea for how heavily you tend to spray and how fast you walk when spraying.

    Q
    Is Talstar P really working?
I purchased the Talstar P product and mixed it by instruction/video provided. Although, I spray the product directly on a plant infested by aphids and they just laugh at me and continue on their business. Am I missing something?
    A
Talstar does not offer an instant knockdown but it does offer a long term residual. Talstar can take several hours to kill insects when used as directed on the product label.

    Q
Have Home Pest Defence system where they spray inside walls and supposedly push through with some type of gas
I would like to know if there is sprayer I can use to treat home using those entrances around my house - don't want to be dependent upon them FOREVER because the house was built with that system
    A
We do not carry or distribute the in wall systems so we cannot advise what to use.  We do know that most of those systems require a pressurized piece of equipment to properly treat the lines which most homeowners do not have.  We will say that the downside to those systems is that they do not prevent pests from entering your home since the bugs have to come inside the walls to come into contact with anything.  It is a much better approach to treat the exterior of your home with a professional product like Talstar P every 3 months which keep insects out of your home in the first place.  And all you need is a hand pump sprayer, not a specialized piece of equipment.

    Q
Can birds die from eating insects that have died from Talstar P?
We have found dead birds in our yard within a week or two after using Talstar P. Well after the Talstar application was dry, there were still insects outside that were dead or dying.
    A
No, Talstar P would not harm birds eating the dead insects. Talstar P is a very safe product when used as directed on the product label. In fact, Talstar P is even labeled to be used in poultry houses where birds come in direct contact with the product.
