    Q
What product is best to use in a Spider-B-Gone misting system at my lake house?
I want to control spiders and insects at the top of my exterior walls. I have been switching between Riptide 5.0% ULV and Pyranha 1-10 PX
    A
We are not familiar with that misting system. Talstar is a great product to use in a misting sprayer. Riptide and Pyrahna are still top choices for misting systems.

    Q
Should I spray the outside of the house as recommended with Talstar P in conjunction with another product for mosquitoes?
Or is Talstar P enough? I don't live close to water, but the mosquitoes are horrible.
    A
Talstar P is a recommended product for mosquito control. You will need to spray more than just the outside of your home though. You will need to spray the underside of the leaves on trees and bushes nearby as that is where the mosquitoes spend the heat of the day. We have also had good reviews from people who sprayed a 2 foot band around the perimeter of their property.

After the treatment has dried will eating the grass and bugs harm my chickens?

Talstar P is labeled to be used in poultry houses and chicken pens so it should not harm your chickens. You must make sure your chickens are out of the area while you apply Talstar P and then they can return to the area as soon as it is dry.

  • Asked by Kris from Eugene, Or

    Q
Can Talstar P kill broad mites and spider mites on indoor plants?
We tested it on one plant at 7 mills per gal and added 1/2 teas. surfactant and it seemed to work. But the pamphlet that came with it doesn't really say how to do what need it to. So any advice would be great. Thanks
    A

Yes, Talstar P is labeled for only spider mites and clover mites. While it might kill broad mites as well it is not labeled for them so we cannot recommend it for this use.

    Q
What's the mixing ratio of Talstar P when using a lawn sprayer that's connected to a garden hose?
I know it's 1 oz per gallon in a pump sprayer.
    A

The rate for Talstar P in a hose end sprayer would be the same as if you were using in a pump sprayer, 0.5 to 1 fl oz (1 - 2 tbsp) per gallon of water for low volume applications, or 0.5 -1.0 fl. oz. per 1,000 square feet in a higher volume of water.

    Q
Is Talstar P (Talstar One) safe to spray on my pumpkin plants?
I was recommended Bifenthrin for pumpkin pests, but I am not sure if this is safe for my pumpkins.
    A

Talstar P (Talstar One) cannot be applied to edible vegetation. Malathion would be a better option.
