For treating lawns, bushes, trees, shrubs and for exterior periemter foundation applications, a handpump sprayer, backpack sprayer or mist blower is recommended to apply Talstar P Professional Insecticide.
Per the product label, a hose end sprayer or watering can is only recommended if treating wood piles and stored lumber to deliver a coarse drenching spray. Treated wood can be burned as firewood or used for lumber one month after treatment.
Talstar P (Talstar One) can be dispersed in a hose end applicator, hand pump or backpack sprayer for gnats/midges in the lawn. It is also great for treating spiders, centipedes, fire ants and many other insects. We recommend applying 1 oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft as a broadcast and the same rate per mound for drenching for fire ants. NyGuard IGR can be added to the Talstar P and water mix for impeding the reproductive cycle for listed pests. How to Get Rid of Gnats/Midges
We have put together an Overwintering kit that is just for stink bugs. This kit includes Demon WP insecticide with Cypermethrin, Eco PCO dust and a hand duster for easy application. You should treat once a month through November for best results.
Talstar will kill any wasp, bee, or hornet that comes into contact with a treated area. Keep in mind that this is not a contact kill product, so it can take up to 24 hours for an insect to die after contacting a treated surface. You can also use a product like Wasp Freeze as a contact kill. If you know where any of the nests are located, you can use Wasp Freeze to treat those directly as well. It is best to apply any insecticides in the early morning or evening when the wasps/bees/hornets are least active.
Talstar P would be a good choice to use around the inside and outside of your home to eliminate centipedes. Indoors you can apply Talstar P to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, and any other place where the insects can gain entry. Outdoors you should apply the product to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, around the bottom of the foundation and out onto the ground directly around the foundation. You can also limit favorable conditions that the centipedes need to thrive.
