    Q
Can I mix Talstar P and Permethrin SFR together in a hose end sprayer and apply at the same time?
I already have Permethrin SFR but after reading on your Q&A site that the residual effect for mosquitos is better with Talstar P which I ordered some from you today. Just want to know if I can use both at the same time or is that overkill. Mainly using on my lawn to kill flying insects, ticks, fleas, and ants.
    A
We do not recommend that you mix these products together as they are both synthetic pyrethroids and it would be like doubling the usage rate of each product. Just using the Talstar P for mosquito control will work very well. We recommend using 1fl oz per gallon of water for best results.

    Q
What is good all around product for home insect control?
I live in central Florida, older house (1950s), live on lake. keep windows and sliding doors open to screened in porch. don't use a lot of AC due to lake breeze. Most of the insects are cockroaches and ants.
    A
Our most popular general use product is called Talstar. It is widely used by pest control companies because it is labeled for almost every insect you could have a problem with and you can use it outside the home as well as inside, it is odorless and very safe for use around children and pets. It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a one gallon hand pump sprayer. It will last for 60 to 90 days outside in between treatments. It is also labeled for lawn and ornamental use, and can be used on trees, plants, bushes and shrubs for all sorts of ornamental pests including Japanese beetles, mosquitoes, and other leaf eating pests. Talstar is also available in a granule formula called Talstar PL if you prefer to use granules.

    Q
Will Talstar P harm Anole Lizards?
We have anoles in our organic vegetable garden and we don't want to harm them. Will they be harmed by this chemical, when it is sprayed on the house and windows?
    A
As long as the lizards are not sprayed directly with Talstar they should not suffer any ill effects from the use of the product. You may notice a reduction in the lizards however as their food source (insects) will be reduced or eliminated by using Talstar P.

    Q
Can I use Talstar P as an indoor broadcast spray for fleas?
I didn't read into it very carefully and broadcast sprayed my entire house for fleas..oops. now what do I do? Although everything from fleas to flies are dead.
    A

You should not repeat the treatment you have already made indoors using Talstar P. You can use Talstar P for flea control outdoors at a rate of 1 oz per 1000 sq ft around turf and ornamentals. Indoors, you can use a steamer or carpet cleaner to break down some of the residual application. At least 14 days after that application, we recommend retreating with a product for indoor flea treatment such as PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol. Be sure to vacuum well before spraying and then every day or every other day after. Please refer to our online Flea Treatment Guide for more tips on eradicating this pest.

    Q
If I dilute Talstar 7.9, 1oz in a gallon of water, what % of bifenthrin will I now have?
The store brand says 0.3% bifenthrin in a quart hose sprayer bottle.By the time this is diluted with the water from the hose what % am I using? I would like to triple the strength I am getting now with the store product. In other words ,how much 7.9% should go into the quart hose sprayer bottle to give me a .9%solution ?What would the final % be that I would be applying?
    A
If you mix 1 oz of Talstar P per gallon of water you will be using a 0.06% solution. The Talstar P product label says not to use a higher concentration that the 0.06% solution and we do not recommend that you do so. We do not have any information on the store brand product that you used so we are not sure what the dilution usage rate would be on that product. Each hose end sprayer is different  in the way that it is used but if you are following the directions and use 1 oz of product per gallon of water then the end usage rate will be 0.06%.

    Q
Will Talstar P control poison oak or poison ivy?
    A

Talstar P (Talstar One) is an insecticide, not an herbicide and will not harm any plants or vegetation.  If you are looking to target Poison Ivy or Poison Oak you could use Gordons Trimec Classic or a non selective like Roundup QuikPro

    Q
    Black vine weevil control, Talstar?
Have severe infestation of what appears to be black vine weevils that covers a large part of the area, and it is getting worse every year. They are eating the forsythia, golden vicary privet, mums, and coral bells, to the point that some are totally denuded. I read that Talstar may provide control. Is this true, and if so are there any special application techniques required?
    A
Talstar is labeled for treatment of weevils and many of our customers have cited success with Talstar for weevils.  The product label calls for half an ounce per gallon of water, and this should be applied over 1000 square feet.  There are not really any special instructions other then to cover all foliage completely including the base and trunks of the plants.

    Q
I need the strongest, easiest, most effective broad-spectrum insecticide for my yard.
suburban, have dog. dallas Texas, must include fleas, chiggers, spiders, roaches, big ass tree roaches, beatles. if it crawls i want it gone. prefer something that i can spray on with a water hose to yard and outsise of home. that lasts. also need a strong weed killer to kill all tx weeds, but expecially these burr weeds ( look like clover but put out these non spikey, round burrs.) grass not an issue, plan to reseed. weeds cover 75% of yard anyway. a few trees i dont want hurt.
    A

Talstar P would be your best general insecticide for your yard. It is labeled for just about any insect you could have a problem with including ants, roaches, beetles, mosquitoes, and many others. Talstar P can be used in a hose end sprayer but can be a little thick so may need a touch of water added to thin it a bit.

If you are looking to get rid of the weeds and grass so you can reseed you should use a glyphosate product such as Glyphosel Pro. This is a non-selective herbicide that will kill the weeds and anything other foliage it is sprayed on. You can reseed after 14 days. Do not directly spray the trees or allow drift to get on the trees to avoid damage.
