    Q
Will Talstar P (Talstar One) kill orb spiders?
We've just recently had orb spiders...like bee spiders and a necoranae(fuzzy brown spider) on windows and by our ac unit. I want to kill these suckers and anything they will eat. I'm hoping this product will do it.
    A

Talstar P (Talstar One) is labeled for spiders but not orb spiders in particular. The product should be sprayed in areas where the spiders will come in contact with it. The mixing rate is 1 fl oz per gallon of water.

    Q
Can Talstar P be mixed with dormant oil and applied simultaneously when temps are below 85?
    A

Yes, you can mix the two products together. We would recommend mixing a small tank mixture with Talstar P and dormant oil to make sure there is no clumping between the two products.

    Q
Can I mix a stronger solution of Talstar P?
I'm renovating a home and have seen a few of those larger roaches (maybe palmetto bugs or American cockroaches?) dead in various places in the home. For the initial application, would it be of any benefit to mix a stronger Talstar P solution, say 1.5 oz to 1 gallon water? Or does a stronger solution not work any better than the recommended 1 oz to 1 gallon? Thanks. Great website!
    A
Thank you! We do not recommend to mix any higher a dosage than what the products label instructs. This could cause a resistance issue down the road if the product is over applied. We recommend mixing Talstar P at a rate of 1fl oz per one gallon of water.

    Q
What to use to kill digger wasps that come in May and gone in June?
They make many holes in the earth with mounds of soil around them in the lawn and garden. They do not seem to sting. They look like a small brown bee.
    A
It sounds like they could possibly be Cicada Killers. To treat Cicada Killers, you can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps. For current infestations, you would need to use Delta dust in each individual burrow. Using a residual like Talstar P will also kill them when they come in contact with the treated areas.

Are there any issues mixing Talstar in a sprayer that has been used with weed killer before?
    A

We recommend that you use a separate sprayer for insecticides like Talstar and another one for herbicides in order to prevent possible contamination of either product.

    Q
    Will Talstar kill ticks??
    A

Yes, Talstar P will kill ticks. We also recommend mixing in an IGR to help break down the reporductive cycle. You can use something like Nyguard IGR. You would mix 1 oz Talstar with 3-8 ml Nyguard IGR into one gallon water.

    Q
Is Talstar P dangerous to bug eating critters?
does Talstar P pose any dangers to insect eating critters like frogs, toads, bats, birds etc. I want to treat my yard and wooded portion of our property mainly for mosquito control. I realize that other bugs will be killed but would dangers are there for critters that consume affected insects?
    A
After mixing Talstar P (Talstar One) there is only enough active ingredient to harm small insects. With that said, if you are killing the critters' prey, then they may leave the area.
