Talstar P (Talstar One) is labeled for a wide variety of small flying insects including gnats, midges and other small biting flies and should help reduce the amount of midges on your property. Be sure to spray the areas where you have noticed the midges landing or resting as Talstar will only eliminate those insects that land on treated areas. Please refer to the product label for mixing and application instructions
MIxing Tengard with Talstar will not make it last any longer and is not actually recommended. Mixing 2 insecticides together can contaminate an area making it highly repellent where insects will avoid it and neither can do their job of killing the insects. If you want a faster knockdown product, you can add something like Exciter. If you want a longer residual you should use something like Suspend Polyzone which can last up to 90 days on outside surfaces.
Talstar P cannot be applied in a misting system. It can only be applied using a hand held pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose end sprayer, or a mist blower. We do carry misting system concentrates that you can use instead.
Yes, Talstar P can be used outdoors for kissing bugs, as well as various other pests as well. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Talstar P is not labeled for use in misting systems and would likely clog your machine. Essentria IC3 is labeled to be used in misting systems and is safe to use near bodies of water.
Talstar P is labeled to treat for termites and lasts for about 5 years in the ground when trenching. A better option for subterranean termites would be non-repellents like Termidor SC or Taurus SC. Termidor and Taurus will last up to 10 years in the soil. Non-repellents work slower but are much more effective when treating a termite colony as they are able to be transferred through the entire colony therefore eventually eliminating the colony.
