    Q
Best method to kill and prevent Mosquitos in residential wooded yard?
I live in MN and I'm planning to purchase a Solo 451 for applying the chemical. My concern is which product will be more effective. The 2 that I'm considering from your website is Talstar P or permethrin (pyrana). Will one perform better than the other? What are the pros and cons of one over the other? Thank you for your help!
    A
Talstar P (Talstar One) is highly recommended for Mosquito control. To further control and break down the reproductive cycle you can mix in Nyguard. Nyguard will cause the flying insects to become sterile after contacting it.

    Q
I have been using Tempo for mosquito control. How does Talstar compare to tempo or basically which is better?
Also does Talstar wash off after a rain and do you recommend using to help the product stick or become more residual?
    A
Both Talstar and Tempo are great products. Talstar P (Talstar One) does provide and quick knockdown and can be applied to many different areas. Tempo allows for a powder formulation with even dispersal of a powder. Both products have different manufacturers. There is no real way to make a product have a longer residual. You can mix in ExciteR which will increase the quickness and intensify the kill.

    Q
Will Talstar P (Talstar One) kill bagworms?
    A
Yes, Talstar P (Talstar One) is labeled for bagworms. Treatments can be made to control early to mid-season larvae (August-February) as they feed on plant crowns. Treatments made in late-season (approximately March-April) may only provide suppression. You will use .125-.25 fl. oz per gallon of water. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

  • Asked by Jason from Tulsa, Ok

    Q
How does Talstar P compare to the new Suspend Polyzone?
Does Suspend Polyzone have a faster kill rate for spiders. I see in the Q&A that Talstar P takes longer to kill since it is a residual. Can you give some guidance on whether this is true for Suspend Polyzone?
    A
The active ingredient in Talstar is not protected like that of the Suspend Polyzone. Talstar will last 30 days outdoors. Suspend Polyzone features a proprietary polymer layer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. This controlled release formulation, which resists erosion, ensures your treatment will continue to control targeted pests for up to 90 days outdoors. It also stays right where you put it, so if you want to increase the effectiveness of your treatments, put the science of Suspend Polyzone to work for you.

Can I use Talstar on carpet, mattress, furniture indoors
Have a 12week old kitten treating for fleas. Still feel the need to treat a couple of areas. Don't want to bomb. Can I spray carpet
    A
Talstar P (Talstar One) is listed indoor for cracks and crevices only. To treat carpets and furniture, we recommend using Alpine Flea Insecticide. Alpine Flea Insecticide Aerosol with IGR is the newest flea control product from the Alpine line of products.  Alpine products are made from dinotefuran which was granted a reduced risk status from the EPA.

  • Asked by Thomas from Port Charlotte,fl
    07/19/2014
    Q
Can I spray talstar or bifenthrin on my pool cage screen to prevent " no see ums" from getting in?
I was told to use permethrin but it doesn't seem to work...my pool is constantly full of them! I'm hoping the oil based bifenthrin is the answer.
    A
The active ingredient Bifenthrin is labeled to help control Noseeums. You would want to treat the perimeter of the pool with Talstar P focusing on the bushes, trees, shrubs and ground cover surrounding the pool. Incorporating an Insect Growth Regulator such as Archer IGR will help break down the population because it keeps the insects from being able to reproduce. A great contact kill to use is Microcare Aerosol Spray to use around the entry points to the pool house (doors, eaves, joint areas against screen)

If the lizards are sprayed directly with the Talstar P it may cause them harm. If they travel over dried deposits of the Talstar P it would be less likely to cause any issues.

    Q
I know you say Talstar is not harmful to dogs after it dries but if it gets wet again does it have to dry?
    A
Talstar P is safe if applied and dried prior to the dogs entering the treated surfaces for the initial application. If the treated area gets wet again, it does not reactivate the product so it will be safe.
