Talstar P is not labeled specifically for rat mites. The easiest method to control rodent mites that have entered your home is to physically remove them with a vacuum cleaner or wipe them up with a moist cloth. Mites are not automatically killed by a vacuum cleaner so freeze the bag to prevent the mites from crawling back out.
Locating the source and eliminating the hosts and nests is important to prevent further problems with these mites. Nests are usually located in attics, basements, or inside walls. If necessary, trap them with kill traps or glue boards. Spray the dead rat and its nest with a disinfectant.
Removing mites€™ source (dead mice, rats, and abandoned nests) is very important. Unless you remove their source, rat mites will continue to seek human host infesting your house.
Yes, Talstar P is labeled for stink bugs and lady bugs. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This will be used to spray around baseboards, cracks and crevices.
The Overwintering Kit is an excellent combination of products that protects you during your winter months with an insecticide and a dust. We generally do recommend at least using a dust with any other product, such as Talstar P, that you are using. The pests come in contact with it and dry out. This is an added protection to consider using throughout the year.
Talstar P is not labeled to be used around anything edible. It can stay in the soil for up to 5-7 years so any treated soil would not be able to be used. For treating fire ant mounds in a garden you could use Martins Surrender Fire Ant Killer which is labeled for use on selected agricultural crops and food bearing plants.
Talstar P is a excellent option for boxelder bugs. Be sure to spray around the perimeter of the home, around windows, doors, etc. where the bugs could get indoors. You should treat in late Summer and Fall once a month until the first frost. This product can also be used indoors around the perimeter of your home. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.
Talstar P is not a repellent to keep insects out of the area, it is only to kill the ones that land/crawl on a treated surface to receive a lethal dose. It is great to use to help kill any, the key is to apply to the underside of leaves as that is where the adults lay during the day. To repel mosquitoes from an area you could use a product called Mosquito Barrier.
Talstar P is the #1 recommended product for bagworm control. You will need to use 1 oz. of Talstar per gallon of water. Applications should start in April and continue monthly through June. Be sure foliage is sprayed thoroughly to the point of runoff to achieve adequate coverage. Talstar can be applied with a hose end sprayer, but it is best to use a hand pump sprayer if possible to ensure the most even coverage.
Talstar is often the go to product for interior plantscapes. The product is labaled for most plant infesting insects and can be used on plants indoors as long as they are non-edible.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is NOT labeled to kill horse flies or for use in pastures containing grazing animals. We recommend using Martins Permethrin 10%. Martins Permethrin 10% controls horse flies, face flies, lice and ticks, with a residual activity lasting up to 28 days. It is also safe for Horses.
For best results, Talstar P should be applied in cool weather (65 - 80?F) or in early morning or late evening hours. You should not apply Talstar P or other insecticides when temperatures are near or below freezing.
The rate for Talstar P in a hose end sprayer would be the same as if you were using in a pump sprayer, 0.5 to 1 fl oz (1 - 2 tbsp) per gallon of water for low volume applications, or 0.5 -1.0 fl. oz. per 1,000 square feet in a higher volume of water.
A product like Talstar P can be used to control midges (another term for blind mosquitoes) outdoors. You can spray window screens, doors, bushes, and plants around the home to help keep midges away. An aerosol pyrethrin spray such as 565 Plus or Microcare can be used to control midges inside the home.
It is recommended that Talstar P not be used within 3 feet or outside the drip zone of edibles, which ever one applies.
It is not necessary to treat the crawl space with Talstar P unless you are concerned with pests in that area.
Bifen XTS and Talstar P (Talstar One) are both very good general insecticides to use around the perimeter of your home. The residual on both products is approximately 30 days and once the products dry, it is rainfast so rain will not wash it away. Be sure to spray areas where there would be or you have seen activity for pests to ensure that they come in contact with the treated area.
If you are looking for a product that lasts longer outdoors, Suspend Polyzone would be a great option. It has an additional polymer in it that makes it last longer outdoors.
Talstar P (Talstar One) will kill bees and wasp that come incontact with the treated area. However, if you know where the nest is in the wall it would be best to use a dust. you can use a hand duster to apply a dust product such as Tempo Dust into and around the area where the bees seem to be gaining access to your home. Over a period of a couple of days to a week (timeline will depend on how many bees are contacting the treated area) this will kill off the colony that has taken up residence in your home. Any insecticide applications should be done very early in the morning or very late in the evening when the bees are less active. After the bees have been eliminated it is important to remove the bee hive from the void where the bees were nesting. Failure to remove the hive can lead to mold issues and secondary infestation from hive beetles and other insects. If the bee hive is in an area that is not easily accessible you may want to consider hiring a professional pest control operator.
You will need to use 1 ounce of Talstar P per gallon of water for mosquito control. Thank you for your order. We appreciate your business!
Talstar will not harm chameleons or lizards, but it will kill the insects in the area they feed on so you may notice a decline in the number you see around as their food sources will be more scarce. Butterflies and bees are insects and will be affected by an insecticide like Talstar and any other product the same way the target pests like ants and spiders would be. The best way to reduce the chance of the Talstar affecting the bees, butterflies and beneficial insects is to spray later in the day when they are not active and are back in their homes/nests, and try to avoid blooms of flowers and plants they would be using for pollenation. Most structural insects you would be targeting are not going to be landing in the same places they would be so it helps keep you from doing as much damage.
