Talstar P (Talstar One) could be used along or mixed with Riptide to give you a faster initial knockdown of insects and then you will have the 30 days residual as well.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is not labeled to be used on couchs or furninture in that way. You could instead use a product like CB 80 as a contact kill.
Talstar P is effective for fire ant control. Per the product label, "Fire Ant Mound control is optimized by combining broadcast applications that will control foraging workers and newly mated fly-in queens with mound drenches that will control existing colonies. If the soil is not moist, then it is important to irrigate before application or use a high volume application. Apply broadcast treatments at 0.5 to 1 fluid oz. per 1,000 square feet. Use enough finished volume to penetrate thatch or sod. Treat mounds by applying 1 oz of Talstar P per mound in 1 to 2 gallons water by sprinkling the mound until it is wet and treat 3 feet out around the mound. Use the higher volume for mounds larger than 12”. Treat mounds with sufficient force to break their apex and allow the insecticide solution to flow into the ant tunnels. For best results, apply in cool weather (65 - 80 F) or in the early morning or late evening hours."
Yes, you can apply Talstar P with a hose-end sprayer.
Talstar P cannot be applied in a misting system. It can only be applied using a hand held pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, hose end sprayer, or a mist blower. We do carry misting system concentrates that you can use instead.
Talstar P (Talstar One) will kill Blind mosquitos, but since you listed that you live on a lake, EcoVia would be best. EcoVia EC can safely be applied in and around homes, businesses, near and over water such as boat docks and pool areas without harming aquatic life, as well as numerous other areas. EcoVia EC is safe to use around children and pets.
Talstar P is labeled to safely be used on trees, bushes and other ornamental plants. Talstar is not labeled to be used on vegetables or any type of edibles, so you should discard any edible vegetation that has come in contact with this product.
Yes Talstar P can be safely used around pets as long as you follow the label instructions; all pets need to be out of the area while application is being made and they can return as soon as the application is dry.
We recommend that you use a separate sprayer for insecticides like Talstar and another one for herbicides in order to prevent possible contamination of either product.
The active ingredient in Talstar is Bifenthrin, which works by interferring with the nervous system of insects when they eat or touch it after contacting a treated surface. It works when they groom themselves they will ingest it.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is labeled for treating non-edible trees for twig borers only. We recommend that you have a proper id of the insect through your local cooperative extension office to determine the species you will be targeting for a specific product recommendation.
We typically recommend Talstar P for general home pest control. It is labeled for over 75 different pests, so it will work for all of the ones you mentioned as well as many others. It can be used indoor and outdoors, and it is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and won't break down easily with rainfall. The dilution rate is determined on the targeted pest when applying Talstar and Pivot 10. We recommend that you apply 0.5-1 fl oz per gallon of the Talstar P and 4-12 ml of Pivot 10 IGR per 1,000 sq ft.
Talstar P will midges and mosquitos that contact a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose. It will dry clear and will not harm pait or surfaces when used as directed on the product label.
Talstar P (Talstar One) can be applied once monthly to the exterior of the structure and on foliage for mosquio control. If you treat the areas that the mosquitoes harbor, you will have great success. They do not have to be present for eradication. Most insecticides and herbicides are able to be tank mixed together, just make sure you follow each product label instructions for "tank mixing" instructions.
Talstar P is able to be tank mixed according the label but since we do not carry T-Zone Weed Killer, we cannot confirm the tank mix compatability.
Talstar P (Talstar One) can be dispersed in a hose end applicator, hand pump or backpack sprayer for gnats/midges in the lawn. It is also great for treating spiders, centipedes, fire ants and many other insects. We recommend applying 1 oz per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft as a broadcast and the same rate per mound for drenching for fire ants. NyGuard IGR can be added to the Talstar P and water mix for impeding the reproductive cycle for listed pests. How to Get Rid of Gnats/Midges
Talstar P (Talstar One) is NOT labeled to kill horse flies or for use in pastures containing grazing animals and is NOT labeled for use on horses. We do offer Permethrin SFR 36.8% and it is labeled for use on livestock such as horses and cattle as well as other animals. We have listed the specifications for horses below but you can find more information on the product label.
For use on Horses to control: Horn flies, face flies, stable flies, house flies, horse flies, black flies, eye gnats, mange mites, scabies mites, ticks, lice and fleas: Use ¼ fl. oz. to 1 pt. water, 0.6257% AI. Low pressure spray. Application: 1-2 fl. oz. spray per animal. Spot treat back, face, legs tail and ears.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is mixed at 1 oz per gallon per 1,000 sq ft. You will need approx. 44 fl oz to cover an acre (43,560 sq ft). It will offer a 90 day interior residual and 30 day exterior residual.
Either Cyper WSP or Talstar P would work for your needs. Both are labeled for roaches and spiders, both can be used indoors and outdoors and both are safe for pets and children when used as directed. They are both great general insecticides, just different in their formulation. If you are treating indoors, Talstar P may have a slight advantage in that it will dry clear, whereas the Cyper WSP may leave a white residue behind on some surfaces.
