Talstar works great for mosquito control and it can be used in your mister. The key is to apply it to all shrubs, trees, and other foliage around the house or where you are trying to provide relief. It should be directed not only on top of the leaves and plants, but on the underside of the leaves as well which is where the mosquitoes hang out during the heat of the day. Talstar should be applied every 30 days for optimum control.
Talstar P does not provide an instant knockdown of pests, rather, pests pick up the residual active ingredient by contact. It works by disrupting an insect's nervous system, causing a weakened state followed by death.
We do not recommend spraying Talstar P on insulation in the crawl space. It should only be applied in cracks and crevices.
Making a pesticide like Talstar P (Talstar One) too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation. Simply wipe down, or wash off areas of application and re-apply at the correct rate of 1 oz to a gallon of water.
When you are using Talstar P (Talstar One) to treat for subsurface insects such as mole crickets, chinch bugs, etc., you will to water in after application per the product label. When applying as pest control product for surface pests, you will wait to water at least 24 hours after application.
Talstar P is safe to use around chickens and livestock as long as the animals aren’t grazing in the treated areas. After the application, you need to wait until the area is completely dry before letting the animals back onto the treated areas.

Talstar P is safe if applied and dried prior to children entering the treated surfaces. If the treated area gets wet again, it does not reactivate the product.

It would be recommended to steam clean the carpets to remove any Talstar P residual as it is not labeled to be broadcasted on carpets.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is a non-staining product that should not be applied to wood floors only cracks and crevices as directed indoors.
Talstar P (Talstar One) is not directly labeled for maggots for the common house fly, but it would help with the maggot control as it would cause the fly population to decrease rapidly. It should be mixed at 0.5 to 1.0 oz. per gallon of water and applied on the exterior of the home focusing around windows, doors, areas of direct sunlight and where you notice the flies congregating. Using a fly bait trap such as the Flies Be Gone Trap to draw the flies away from the home is also recommended.
In most cases, Talstar P can be mixed with a herbicide as long as the mixing instructions on both product labels are followed. It is recommended to do a small jar test first to be sure that the products are compatible.

When using Talstar P for mosquito control, it’s best if you can treat the underside of the tree leaves as high up as possible. The more surface you’re able to treat, the more effective your treatments will be.
Yes, Talstar P can be safely used around pets and children as long as you follow the label instructions; all pets and children need to be out of the area while application is being made and they can return as soon as the application is dry.
