    Is it safe for vegetable gardens
    A
    Talstar XTRA Granules are not labled for vegetable gardens. Instead you could use something like Sevin Lawn Insect Granules. If a granule is not necessary, another great option would be the Fertilome Triple Action Plus which can be sprayed in and on the garden for control of insects and vegetable diseases, and the food can be harvested the same day.

    What would be the proper setting for a Scotts Edgeguard spreader?
    A
    The Talstar XTRA Granules label does not list this specific Scott's spreader. We recommend contacting the manufacturer direclty to get the correct calibration. You may contact the manufacturer FMC directly at 800-321-1362. Scott's website also has a Spreader Setting Tool on their website, you may access this tool here.     Out side granules sprinkled around exterior of house for roach/bug contol
    Before I was using Do-it-yourself, I had an exterminator using granules (like fertilizer textur) which he sprinkled around the exterior perimeter of our house to kill roach/bugs, I did'nt get the brand name but it said L-2 and G-1. Do you know what type insecticide this is so I can buy from DIY. The previous company was Orkin, they went from using spray to granules around outside every 2 months. Thank You..

    What is the difference between Talstar XTRA and Talstar PL?
    A

    Talstar Xtra has an additional active ingredient, which is zeta-cypermethrin (they both contain bifenthrin). It also is less dusty and all the granules are uniform in size. Talstar PL granules are a sandy granule. They both cover a broad range of pests and can be used in your lawn, commercial areas and recreational areas.

    Will applying Talstar Xtra at or around the same time as applying fertilizer, have any effect on the fertilizer or lawn?

    No, they will have no interaction with one another, you are more than welcome to apply Talstar Xtra with your choice of fertilizer at or around the same time. Please read label for application instructions.

    Talstar for roaches, or not?
    In this Q&A thread, you have what seems to be conflicting information. One person asks about "Best granules to stop roaches and scorpions" and the recommended product is Talstar XTRA. Another asks "Will Talstar Xtra repel roaches?", and the response is "Talstar Xtra will not repel roaches nor is it labeled for roach control. We recommend that you stick with a product that is labeled for roaches such as Demand G granules." Can you provide a little more information to help sort this out? Thank you!

    Talstar Granules did have roaches on the product label at one time as an insect that it controlled. However, they removed roaches from the granule label because they found it wasn't as effective on roaches as they had previously thought. We recommend DeltaGard G Granules as this product is specifically labeled for cockroaches and works well at eliminating them in lawns and landscape areas.

    Are Talstar XTRA Granules the best treatment for about two acres of cleared woods for carpenter ants?
    They are making their way closer to the house. I have used the bait and dust and some spray on some of the nest, but there is so much area.

    What can I put out to control mole crickets?
    A

    A great product to treat your lawn for mole crickets is Talstar XTRA Granules. When the mole crickets are small and young, they are much easier to control, but there will be little to no visible damage at this time. When damage is visible, usually in the spring, mole crickets are much larger and robust, which makes them harder to control. The best time to treat for moles crickets will be in the early life stages, when they are the most vulnerable.     Is Talstar XTRA Granular Insecticide safe for my ducks, chickens and pigs that roam free in my yard to treat for fleas?

    Talstar XTRA Granular Insecticide could not be used in areas where animals may consume the turfgrass as this is not labeled for grazing areas. 

    Permethrin SFR 36.8% would be a better option for treating the lawn and surrounding areas for fleas along with tank mixing NyGuard IGR to help stop the reproduction cycle. These products can be used in and around livestock premises and where ducks, chickens and pigs would roam. Mix Permethrin SFR at 0.4 to 0.8 fl oz per 4 gallons of water along with 4 ml to 8 ml per gallon of water per 1000 sq f.
