Taurus SC Termiticide can be applied with a foaming agent in a foam applicator for wall void applications as indicated on the product label only. Please find full instructions on page 6 and 7 of the label here.
Yes, in order to have a complete preventative barrier, trenching is necessary and so is treating the backfill with your solution of Taurus SC. If you do not treat the trenched area, you risk leaving gaps that are not treated where termites could pass through and not be affected by the chemical. Taurus SC Termiticide will not stain surfaces such as siding or stucco when mixed per the product label.
As long as you observe the triple rinse rule of running clean water, or water and soap/tank cleaner through the sprayer including the hose, wand and nozzle three times between chemicals, you can reuse that sprayer for other purposes. Some customers however prefer to keep their applications of products like the Taurus SC to their own unit and have a different sprayer for plant/yard use.
As long as the product was applied as directed on the product label, then the treated area would be safe when completely dry and it would be okay to resume normal activity. It is important to not let your dogs in the treated areas while the product is still wet. Once dry, it should be fine.
If only a few drops of diluted solution of Taurus SC Termiticide actually went into the pool, it should be fine since it is so very diluted by the pool water. For further questions, you can call Control Solutions at 281.892.2500.
Taurus SC Termiticide is should not be used on plants nor to treat soil in potted plants. It is only for use outside around the foundation of the home in the soil to protect your home from termites.
Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a treatment for potted plants. You can try using boiling water to kill any in the soil of the pots.You should not use Taurus SC Termiticide indoors on surfaces, including in attics. It's labeled for use as a general pest spray and termite treatment on the outside of a structure's foundation and only for active infestations directly in wood if used inside as directed on the product label.
Taurus SC Termiticide is a non repellent insecticide which allows the carpenter ants to cross the treated areas undetected and transfer the active ingredient fipronil throughout the colony. Non repellents are not fast acting or knockdown insecticides however have the best transfer effect with social insects like Carpenter Ants.
Keep in mind, it can take up to 90 days to see full results from using Taurus, especially if the colony is large. You cannot reapply Taurus after only 2 weeks from the initial treatment. Depending on what usage rate you used, you likely will need to wait 6 months before using it again.

Taurus SC Termiticide cannot be used in lawns or outside 1ft from the foundation per the product label. DeltaGard G Insecticide Granules would be a better option for lawns and covers a broad spectrum of ant species including Acrobat, Argentine, Big Headed, Cornfield, Fire Ants, Harverster, Leafcutter, Little Black, Pavement, & Pyramid Ants.

Taurus SC Termiticide is NOT labeled for indoor general pest control. The Taurus SC Termiticide product label only allows indoor applications to wall voids (behind sheet rock), unfinished attics, unfinished basements, and crawlspaces for active termite infestations. Taurus SC Termiticide could be harmful if used indoors and would be in violation of the product label.
Taurus SC is not labeled for use inside a concrete wall for honey bee control. There are no products for controlling honeybees as they are beneficial to the environment and are protected.
The first thing you can do is contact your local cooperative extension office and ask for the phone number for your local honey bee farmer. Many bee farmers will come remove honey bees free of charge because of the recent decline in the honey bee population. If this is not an option for you, you can use a hand duster to apply a dust product such as Tempo Dust into and around the area where the bees seem to be gaining access into the wall. Over a period of a couple of days to a week (timeline will depend on how many bees are contacting the treated area) this will kill off the colony. Any insecticide applications should be done very early in the morning or very late in the evening when the bees are less active.
After the bees have been eliminated it is important to remove the bee hive from the void where the bees were nesting. Failure to remove the hive can lead to mold issues and secondary infestation from hive beetles and other insects. If the bee hive is in an area that is not easily accessible you may want to consider hiring a professional pest control operator.

Taurus SC is only able to effectively work with soil, it will not bond properly with mulch. You can dig a little lower but fill the trench back with soil only, mulch on the top if using.
Taurus SC, when applied to a termite trench, adheres to soil particles, shielding the active ingredient, fipronil, from degradation. The soil's stable environment helps maintain the product's potency for up 10 years. Yes, storing Taurus SC for up to five years and then reapplying it to your foundation can still provide 10 years of protection. As long as the product has been stored correctly and is within its expiration date, its effectiveness will remain unchanged.
Per the Taurus SC label: For driveways, exterior drilling is necessary only around building supports or wall elements permanently located at driveway joints.
Taurus SC Termiticide is a restrictive product in general in regards to where, when, and how often it can be applied even in states outside of California. Per the state and EPA, it cannot be applied in California between November 1 and February 28 per the label, and the label is the law. In general, November-February are considered winter months that no insecticides would normally be recommended for as this is not an active pest season or time of year. When registering the Taurus label and use in California, they made sure to specify to not use during these times of year to further reduce any unnecessary applications of the chemical.
Both Termidor SC and Taurus SC Termiticide have a 10-year residual when applied as a trench treatment directly against the exterior perimeter foundation. The 5-year time frame refers to the shelf life of the products when stored in their original container and out of extreme temperatures (heat/freezing) which applies to both Taurus SC and Termidor SC.
Taurus SC Termiticide is the generic version of Termidor SC which is the top termiticide available so either are great options for termite trench treatments around the exterior foundations. Taurus is just less expensive and also comes in 2 sizes, a 20 fl oz and a 78 fl oz bottle. When applied as a termite trench method, it will last 10 years in the soil. Indoors, this can only be used to spot treat active termite colonies only.
Taurus SC / Termidor SC can also be used for roaches, ants, yellow jackets, spiders and more on the exterior perimeter foundation within 1ft of the structure only. This cannot be used in lawns, landscape beds, flowers, etc.

Taurus SC is made to adhere to soil for termite control. It is not labeled to be sprayed just to wood for any type of prevention for termites. Termites are found on the inside of wood, so spraying the outside of the wood, typically will not affect them.
