It is recommended that you keep pets out of the area while applying Taurus SC. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for pets to return to the area.
Taurus SC Termiticide can be used around the outside of your home only for ants. You can also use ant baits indoors and outdoors for ant control. Ant Baits will be picked up by the foraging ants and carried back to the nesting area and shared. Most folks choose to use a combination of products. They use ant baits indoors and in sensitive areas and they use the liquid concentrates outdoors.
No, Taurus SC is not labeled for springtails. We would recommend using Talstar P around your home for springtails. This product should not be sprayed in the same areas as Taurus SC so that they do not work against each other. The mixing ratio is 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water. When treating for springtails, it is crucial to identify and eliminate the excess moisture issue where this pest breeds in order to permantly address the infestation.
For a complete barrier treatment, we would recommend to drill in front of each garage door and apply Taurus SC Termiticide. Drill 12in apart.
Yes, Taurus SC is labeled for Formosan termites. It is recommended that you do a trench treatment around the structure. If you have seen activity in specific areas, it is safe to inject the product in the wood.
Taurus SC would kill a carpenter bee but it is only labeled to be applied 1 ft up and 1 ft out around the perimeter of the structure. Please see our Carpenter Bee Kit.
You will want to give adequate time for the herbicide to dry and absorb into the plants you are treating with it before using another product over top. This will help to make sure there are no compatibility issues between the two products as well as to ensure the insecticide application does not wash away any of the Roundup you applied. Taurus SC should be applied only to the ground 1 foot out from the foundation and 1 foot up onto the structure.

It is best not to apply Taurus SC if it is going to rain the same day. If possible it should be applied at least 24 hours before you are expecting any rain.
Phantom is a non-repellent that can be used indoors and Taurus SC should be applied to the exterior. Both will offer a non-repellent residual. You can retreat with Phantom liquid in 90 days from initial application and 30 days outdoors or with the Phantom aerosol. The Taurus SC will be applied 1 ft up and 1 ft out directly to the exterior of the structure twice a year. We do also carry the Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel and the Advance Carpenter Ant Bait Granules for control of this ant species.
We would recommend to do a trench treament around the outside perimeter of your home using Taurus SC. You can treat between the studs in the walls and it would be better to do it with somethiing like Termidor Foam.
Taurus SC does not bond to rock, it bonds to soil, so if you fill in the trench with rock gravel, Taurus SC will not stick to it and it will leave you with a 6"x6" area of completely unprotected surface that the termites could pass through to get directly to your home. We understand that the digging of the trench is a pain, but it must be done each time and it must be backfilled with soil, and the soil that is backfilled must be treated as well if you want your home properly and completely protected.
Taurus SC is labeled to kill millipedes, if you have already sprayed the perimeter of your home some can make it into the home but will eventually die, most insects die within 72 hours of contact with an insecticide. Millipedes do like cool, damp places to live so you can find them under stones, leaf mold, compost, grass clippings and mulch. Unfortunately, Taurus SC is only labeled to be used around the perimeter of your home and no further than 1 foot out from the foundation. If you want to treat further out than that into your yard and mulched areas, you can turn the mulch from time to time and use something like Talstar P every 30 days or Suspend Polyzone would also work and can hold up to 90 days outdoors.
Taurus SC Termiticide should not harm lizards. It could kill the insects they are feeding on, thus making them go somewhere else for food. Taurus is a great product for ant control but it can only be used on or within one foot of a structure. You cannot use Taurus out in the lawn as this type of treatment is prohibited by the Taurus product label. We do have a wide variety of ant bait granules and insecticides that you can use out in the lawn to control ants. You can find these products by going to our Ant Control Page.
As long as the area that Taurus SC Termiticide was spilled on is dry it should be safe to be around. Generally you could just use water to hose the area and wash it away. There are no fumes from the product that would cause any harm.
Taurus SC Termiticide does list tree treatments on the label. However, it is only labeled for injection applications, and not for a general spray on or around trees.
As long as the ground is not frozen and it is not raining, you can apply Taurus SC up against your structure for a termite barrier in the soil and drilled in holes in the concrete. They are active year round but go further into the soil when there are cooler temperatures.
