    Q
Can I apply Tenacity immediately after scalping my lawn for an overseed?
I know instructions advise to allow for two days after mowing to apply.
    A

Yes, you can apply Tenacity just before or at the time of seeding for best results. Be sure that you are not using Tenacity at the same time as seeding if the grass is more than 20% hard or fine fescue.

  • Asked by Valerie from Fort Collins, Co

    Q
Will Tenacity kill unwanted grasses in Kentucky bluegrass turf lawn?
Local extension office recommends Tenacity to kill off patches of fine fescue in a Kentucky bluegrass if applied at the rate for Kentucky bluegrass. What would that rate be and do you think this method will work well?
    A

Tenacity Herbicide is labeled to be safely applied to fine fescue and is not labeled to kill it so we cannot recommend it for that use.  When you are trying to remove another cool season turf type from KGB the best option is to use a product like Roundup Quikpro (or non selective/glyphosate) and then re-seed with your KBG.

    Q
    Will Tenacity kill Thin paspalum?
Have a lot of thin paspalum in the backyard in my St Augustine grass wasn't sure if Tenacity would kill it
    A

Tenacity Herbicide only lists on the label that seashore paspalum is sensitive to it.  It is not however labeled for use on St Augustine lawns so would not be recommended. It can only be used on St Augustine grown for sod.

    Q
Will Tenacity Herbicide treat brown patch fungus in yard?

Tenacity Herbicide is a herbicide only and will not work as a fungicide.  Clearys 3336F is a great product to use for brown patch as directed on the product label.

  • Asked by Allan from Portland, Oregon
    05/25/2019
    Q
Is there any benefit to ProGrass over Tenacity as a pre-emergent against poa annua on perennial rye?
I live in Oregon and have primarily perrenial rye with some fescue.
    A

Tenacity is only going to suppress poa annua when used as a pre-emergent for it. You would really only use Tenacity as a pre-emergent over the entire lawn if you are needing a pre-emergent to use at the same time as seeding or over-seeding. Otherwise, ProGrass would be a better choice for poa annua control and for use on established perennial ryegrass.

  • Asked by Joe from Eureka Mt
    06/14/2019
    Q
How many applications of Tenacity Herbicide will be needed for bentgrass in the lawn?
    A

Tenacity Herbicide is our most popular product for eliminating bentgrass from other desirable turfgrasses, but it does typically require multiple applications. Late summer/fall applications will be more effective than spring applications. If you are able to spot treat with RoundUp QuikPro, that is another option. It would still be ideal to wait at least 10-14 days after applying the Roundup QuikPro before raking out the dead plants and re-seeding those areas.
