  • Asked by Charles from Metropolis, Il

    Q
What do you mean "after a post emergent application" when referring to watering after using Tenacity Herbicide?
    A

Tenacity Herbicide can be used as a pre-emergent or a post-emergent. A post-emergent application on Tenacity Herbicide would be to kill weeds that are already there. The product does not need to be watered in after application. For a pre-emergent application, the product is used to prevent weeds from coming up. It is recommended that you water the product in 1/2 inch after application to get the product into the soil.

  • Asked by Pete from Wexford, Pa

    Q
Will Tenacity rid my lawn of bentgrass, or should I use Roundup QuikPro?
I used tenacity last Fall, but the creeping bentgrass is still there. After the third application (each application put down 2 weeks apart) I raked the 'brownish' bentrgrass and re-seeded (seed: Penn State mix) the areas where I applied Tenacity; but it didn't work since the bentgrass is still there. Maybe I should have not raked and just scratched the soil with a garden weasel and re-seeded? Maybe the raking didn't allow the Tenacity to stay in the bentgrass' root system?
    A

Tenacity Herbicide is our most popular product for eliminating bentgrass from other desirable turfgrasses, but it does typically require multiple applications. Late summer/Fall applications will be more effective than Spring applications. If you are able to spot treat with RoundUp QuikPro, that is another option. It would still be ideal to wait at least 10-14 days after applying the Roundup QuikPro before raking out the dead plants and re-seeding those areas.

  • Asked by Scott from Fairmont, Wv
    09/17/2017
    Q
Can I put down lime between Tenacity treatments?
I have applied 1 application of Tenacity 1 week ago and plan on waiting another week or two before applying another application. Am I able to put down lime in the yard between treatments or will this effect the ability of Tenacity to work?
    A

You can reapply Tenacity Herbicide after 2-3 weeks for post emergence control of actively growing weeds for best results. There should not be an issue applying lime after the application. We would encourage you to get a soil test to determine the pH level of the soil you are treating also. This can be done at your local cooperative extension

    Q
Can you mix Tenacity with Drive XLR8 ?
    A

As long as both products do not contain the same active ingredient, and both have labels that allow tank mixing in general. Per the Drive label: The most restrictive labeling applies with any tank mix. To increase spectrum of control of broadleaf and other weeds, Drive XLR8 may be tank mixed with 2,4-D, Triclopyr, and other broadleaf herbicides. Make sure to do a tank mix test first for any clumping or discoloring before applying to the lawn. Also, be sure both products can be used on the treatment area safely.
