    Can I spray Tenacity over all my lawn in the fall for pre-emergence?
    I need pre-emergence selective herbicide for fall and spring before weed germinate. Is Tenacity can be used for this purpose to broad cast the whole yard of around 7000 square feet? Is this chemical very toxic for human and pet? Can it be used anytime in the year no matter what temperature out there?

    Tenacity Herbicide can be used as a broadcast application for pre-emergent control of the listed weeds on the label.   It can be used anytime of year depending on target weeds.  As long as you keep pets/children out of the area while you treat and until the product has had time to completely dry or settle it is safe for pets and people to return and resume normal activity

    How do I apply Tenacity when the nimblewill has gone to seed?
    We've had a drought the past month (September/early October 2019) in the Baltimore/Washington DC area and the nimblewill has gone to seed (and my lawn service just arrived to mow my yard as i started typing this). I was pulling them but there is just too much and the ground is dry as a bone.

    Tenacity Herbicide is applied to nimblewill when it is actively growing, and should be applied when temperatures are between 65 and 85 degrees.  You should make your application when no rain is in the forecast for 24 hours, and you should not mow 2 days before or 2 days after your application.  It is applied at the rate of 1 teaspoon of Tenacity, 3 teaspoons of surfactant, in 2 gallons of water per 2000 sq ft.

    Can Tenacity Herbicide be used in lawns in PA?
    I haven't seen in on store shelves and my local Ag dealer had not heard of it.

    Tenacity Herbicide can be shipped and used in Pennsylvania. It can safely be applied to Kentucky Bluegrass, Centipedegrass, Buffalograss, Tall Fescue, Perennial Ryegrass, Fine Fescue, St. Augustine Grass (grown for sod only). This is a professional grade product, so you will not find it on the shelves of any big-box stores.

    I have crab and quack grass among perennial plants such as day lilies, will Tenacity work?
    A
    Tenacity is not labeled to kill Quackgrass. We recommend using a glyphosate product like Glyphosel Pro and spot treating. You can also use a product a selective herbicide like Certainty if you have warm season grass. Please make sure to always review the product label to make sure you are using the right product and mixing ratio for your needs.

    How do I get rid of Bermuda Grass in my yard?
    I bought Tenacity from your company hoping it would do the trick. We have Kentucky Blue Grass and we live in Michigan. Maybe it's to soon to tell since I applied two applications in the last two weeks.

    The product label states that Bermuda grass is sensitive to Tenacity but it would not be recommended as product to eliminate it since it is not labeled for this use.  Turflon Ester would be a better option for removing bermuda from cool season turf.

    Why doesn't Tenacity ship to CA?

    What is the best product to get rid of poa annua in my lawn?
    new lawn loaded with poa now seed heads everywhere I also do have some issues with bent grass I have used tenacity for it is the a product to control the poa annua pre or post apps spring and fall to kill and control?????

    Tenacity Herbicide is labeled for both pre and post emergent control of selective weeds. The label specifically states that bentgrass and poa annua are sensitive to this product and will likely kill it. With poa annua, it is labeled for pre-emergent control only. Tenacity will kill bent grass both pre and post emergently.

    Does Tenacity work on quack grass?

    Tenacity is not labeled for quackgrass elimination. We do carry a similar product called Certainty that is a selective, post-emergent that is labeled to eradicate quackgrass. Please refer to the product label for full mixing and application for the best results.

    Should I use a surfactant when applying Tenacity Herbicide to a newly seeded lawn?
    Trying to restore my lawn and aerate/seed this past Saturday 9/3/2016. Waiting for my order of Tenacity and Surfactant to arrive sometimes this week. Should I use both products and apply to the new lawn even though it's a week after seeding? Also should I use surfactant with it for pre-emergence or is that only for post? Thanks in advance!

    It is safe to apply Tenacity Herbicide at or near seeding for most types of turfgrass for pre-emergent control. You should avoid spraying Tenacity on newly germinated turfgrass plants. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions. You would only need to use a surfactant when applying Tenacity for post-emergent weed control.

    How long should I wait until I can put a winterizer on my lawn after an application of Tenacity Herbicide?
    A

    There is no specific time that you need to wait after using an herbicide like Tenacity before you can apply a fertilizer. As long as the turf is healthy and you are following the directions on the product labels for what you are applying, then you should not come across any problems.     I sprayed Tenacity Herbicide on a site that will be a future flower bed to kill the weeds in the dirt. How long before I can plant the flowers?

    Per the product label for Tenacity Herbicide: Do not plant any crop other than turfgrass species for 18 months after the last application of Tenacity or injury may occur.

    Can I kill rye grass with Tenacity Herbicide? I live in the Northeast.

    No, Tenacity Herbicide will not eliminate ryegrass.  If you want to eliminate ryegrass in cool season turf, we would recommend using Turflon Ester Ultra. The mixing rate is 3/8 - 3/4 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft.

    Will I get better results if I cut my grass short before applying Tenacity?
    A

    This will depend on the target weed you are dealing with in the lawn.  If you have a thick lawn that would prevent contact with the target weed you should mow for better contact before applying Tenacity.  It is recommended not to mow within 2 days before or after applying a herbicide.

    Can I put down lime between Tenacity treatments?
    I have applied 1 application of Tenacity 1 week ago and plan on waiting another week or two before applying another application. Am I able to put down lime in the yard between treatments or will this effect the ability of Tenacity to work?

    You can reapply Tenacity Herbicide after 2-3 weeks for post emergence control of actively growing weeds for best results. There should not be an issue applying lime after the application. We would encourage you to get a soil test to determine the pH level of the soil you are treating also. This can be done at your local cooperative extension.

    When can I start applying Tenacity Herbicide?

    Tenacity Herbicide should be applied before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees if using as a pre-emergent.  If as a post you would apply when the target weeds are actively growing and healthy.

    May I apply Tenacity and SedgeHammer + near the same time?
    A

    There should not be any issues using Tenacity Herbicide and Sedgehammer Herbicide at the same time as long as the turf is established and not under other significant stress. If you are using Tenacity as a post-emergent herbicide, then it is generally best to spot treat since it can cause some temporary whitening of the desirable turfgrass. Another option that you may want to consider would be Dismiss Herbicide, which targets both sedges and many broadleaf weeds.

    How soon can I overseed an area that was treated with Tenacity if I will be using a blend of Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and rye?
    My target weed I am killing is bentgrass.

    You can apply Tenacity herbicide on the day of seeding.  Once you have seeded you will need to wait until the grass is mature.  You can start applying a month before seeding so you can apply 2-3 applications before seeding.
