  • Asked by Chuck from Indianapolis

    Q
Can I speed up the three spraying intervals for Tenacity to 10 days instead of 2/3 weeks?
Trying to get plenty of time for aeration and Fall seeding.
    A

No, Tenacity Herbicide must be used per labeled instructions or it could cause damage to your lawn if used otherwise.  Applying Tenacity Herbicide more frequently than the label allows could cause unnecessary stress to your turf or worse, it could kill your desirable turf.

  • Asked by Nike from Michigan
    09/05/2018
    Q
Can Tenacity Herbicide be used to treat bentgrass on new cool-season grasses I planted about 3 weeks ago?
    A

You will want to wait until the newly germinated turf has been mowed two times or four weeks after emergence (whichever is longer) before making a postemergence application with Tenacity Herbicide to the new cool season turf. For the most effective Bentgrass control, you will need to reapply Tenacity Herbicide at two to three-week intervals for up to three applications. Be sure to apply with a NIS surfactant. Making applications in late summer/early fall just before new growth is very effective in controlling bentgrass.

  • Asked by Mark from Palo Alto, Ca
    09/14/2018
    Q
What is the best time to use Tenacity on nimblewill?
Have applied Tenacity once three weeks ago, but if September - February is nimblewill dormancy, should the remaining two or three applications wait until say March 2019?
    A

Per the label for Tenacity Herbicide, it is best to treat nimblewill with 2-3 applications which are 2-3 weeks apart. If the nimblewill is still green, then you can go ahead and retreat now. If it is already dormant, then it would be best to wait until it is green again to treat with herbicides.

  • Asked by Dennis from Ronkonkoma Ny

    Q
I applied Tenacity and now the new seedlings are turning white, will this green up?
I applied tenacity and seeded several days later. The seedlings are coming up and turning white. Will these new seedlings turn green and survive?
    A

Yes, you can see some whitening of new grass after applying Tenacity.  Unless renovating and/or re-seeding the home lawn, avoid broadcast applications of Tenacity for pre and post-emergence weed control because undesirable whitening of some turf grasses may occur.

  • Asked by Sandy from Mentor, Oh
    09/25/2018
    Q
When can we put seed down after treating the yard with Tenacity Herbicide?
We have an established lawn. We sprayed the backyard and spot treated the front. Also, do we rake the dead spots or just seed over the yard? Is it best to put dirt down also before seeding?
    A

You can use Tenacity Herbicide before or at the same time as seeding with most cool-season turf. So if you are overseeding with tall fescue or bluegrass, for example, then you can put down the seed anytime after apply Tenacity. If there is dead plant matter, then it is always a good idea to remove the dead plants before overseeding to help the new seeds reach the soil and establish. You can apply extra top soil as needed before seeding.
