    Q
Will Tengard SFR treat for mosquitoes?
If so, will mixing with Talstar work?
    A

Tengard SFR is not labeled for residential control of mosquitoes, so we would not recommend using this product for that use. Talstar P would be an excellent choice for a residual insecticide for mosquito control. Please see our Mosquito Treatment Guide for more information about treating for mosquitoes.

    Q
Will Tengard SFR control carpenter bees? If so how often will I have to spray
    A

Tengard SFR could be used to help deter bees from boring into treated areas and kill the ones that contact a treated surface.  It can be applied once a month.

We do actually have a Carpenter Bee Kit that is our most popular product(s) for carpenter bee control.  The kit comes with a dust and a hand duster to apply in the existing holes.  The dust will kill any carpenter bees that are in the holes and will kill the larvae when they hatch.  After a few days all of the adult carpenter bees that are in the holes will die.  You can patch the holes at this point.  The kit also comes with a liquid concentrate that you mix with water and apply using a one gallon hand pump sprayer.  You should treat all of the fascia boards or any surfaces that the carpenter bees seem to be going after.  This will prevent any new holes.  When a carpenter bee lands on the wood surface to make a new hole, it will pick up the product you sprayed on its body and die when it grooms itself.  Carpenter bees are only around for a short time in the spring, and then again in the fall.  You will have to apply both times of the year and then after 2 seasons there will not be any more larvae in the wood.

    A

We would not recommend using Tengard SFR indoors for general pest control in schools or similar buildings. Regardless of what product you are using, persons other than the applicator should remain out of the treatment area until the application is dry. Be sure that you are using an insecticide that has been approved by your school's managing institution.

    Q
Tengard was just sprayed around my house, is it ok to mow grass right away?

    Q
Can the Tengard SFR be used on pine trees?
I want to confirm the recommended dosage to use against (zimmerman moth). According to the directions I only need less than a oz/gallon.Ill probably use 2 gallon of solution at a time. Thank you
    A

Tengard SFR is a permethrin based product and would be a great choice for helping to prevent an infestation.  The tree should be sprayed from the ground to 15 ft up the trunk to prevent future infestations. You will mix an ounce per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft.

  • Asked by Greg from Lafayette, Ca
    04/04/2018
    Q
I have a Valley Oak, will Tengard SFR Termiticide and Insecticide treat the Wooly Aphids that live on the leaves?
The spray service has been using a soak but it has not been too effective at controlling them. They sprayed 3 times last year.
    A

Before applying insecticide, make sure plants are receiving appropriate cultural care and take steps to conserve natural enemies. Tengard SFR Termiticide and Insecticide is labeled for Aphids. Where trees can be sprayed, completely covering shoot terminals and the undersides of leaves is recommended. Treating with at contact spray like Bonide Horticultural Oil or Bonide Pyrethrin Garden Insect Spray can be effective. Adonis 2F would be a great product for systemic control to be absorbed up into the tree by the root system.
