    Q
Can Termidor Foam be used to treat termites in the attic?
Hello, I have termites in two locations of my ceiling and am unsure of what product to use to kill them. Would foam be the correct method or would foam be too much for just ceiling holes?
    A

Termidor Foam can be applied, in 5 second bursts, into the termites kickout holes on the ceiling. We would also recommend using Boracare in the attic.  Boracare needs to be applied to raw wood so it be can be absorbed and kill existing termites and it will protect the wood for the lifetime of it.

    Q
I am looking for a termite prevention product to apply to behind sheetrock on interior walls. Can I use Termidor FOAM?
    A

The only termite prevention that would be for wall voids would be foaming something like Boracare with ProFoam in a foamer into the area as these will penetrate the wood they contact.  This is best for drywood termite prevention.  For subterranean termite prevention you would apply something like Termidor SC in a trench around the home.  We have treatment guides below with more information.

    Q
Does Termidor Foam only last for 6 weeks? And how long does it take to work?
We injected the foam into a few spots in our dining and living room a weeks ago. We have still had a few swarms occur since. How long does it take for the foam to begin to work against the termite infestation? And does the residual combat against the termites for about a year or just 6 weeks?
    A

The Termidor Foam residual lasts approximately  4 – 6 weeks. Termidor foam begins working immediately, however using a product that is non-repellent (or not detectable) will allow the termites to pick up the product on their bodies and transfer it to other termites within the colony. It can take up to 90 days to eliminate the existing termites.

    Q
Can I use Termidor FOAM by drilling in the concrete and injecting it under the slab?
    A

Termidor FOAM would not be the product to use in the holes you’re drilled for trenching. It will not bond to the soil for very long, which is what you need when protecting your structure for termites.  It can be used in galleries, voids and harborage places. You would use Termidor SC or Taurus SC instead.

    Q
Can Termidor FOAM be reused? Meaning will the nozzle clog after use if I don't use it all at one time?
Im hoping to be able to store used product without nozzle clogging, project may take some time.
    A

Termidor FOAM can be reused at another time.  Be sure to rinse the tube after use so it is not left to dry.

  • Asked by David from Hollywood, Md
    11/18/2018
    Q
Is Termidor FOAM the best way to treat for termites coming in around a sewer pipe that passes through a cinder block wall?
    A

Termidor FOAM can be used for a direct application to termite activity in wall voids, but has limited labeling for use outdoors.  If you have a subterranean termite infestation you would need to do a trench treatment around your home/structure with a termiticide such as Termidor SC.  You can refer to our Termite Treatment Guide for tips on how to do the treatment properly.

  • Asked by Dennis from Ridott

    Q
Is Termidor FOAM also a spray in foam insulation? I would like to insulate the walls with something that will prevent future mice. Is there a product for this?
    A

No, Termidor FOAM is not a spray that provides insulation and it is not labeled for mice or rodent. Pur Black Foam sounds like a better option for you. It is for outdoor use and will quickly seal cracks, crevices and voids to help prevent insects and other small pests such as mice, rats and birds from getting inside your home. This product may be used to fill any void, crack or crevice and won't just deter pests, but it will also stop water, gas, smoke, and more. Pur Black is used by roofers, contractors, wildlife control specialists, and pest control professionals. Pur Black Foam must be applied using a Pageris Foam Gun model GU01 or GU24 (sold separately), or similar type foam gun.

  • Asked by Justin from Mobile Alabama

    Q
Could Termidor FOAM be used to foam under a small porch?
I have a concrete slab house with small 6x5 concrete front porch. Termites are where porch meets the front door at the threshold. Would liquid be better? I feel foam would fill all voids. Can I use both liquid and foam termidor for this problem. If so, which should I use first. Thank you very much for your time.
    A

Yes, Termidor FOAM can be applied into the wood. If possible, we also recommend to trench around the porch and apply Termidor SC

  • Asked by Beth from Minnetonka, Mn
    08/02/2018
    Q
When can a re-application of Termidor Foam be made after first application?
Found a kickout hole and "pepper grains" below it. I believe it is from termites. We live in Minnesota so I am not positive but it matched what I found on the internet. Enlarged kickout hole with a drill, sprayed foam Termidor. Result was a whole lot of dead ants. I had never even seen an ant in that room until they all died (no dead termites). Did about six other holes and sprayed the foam. For three days had so many little brown/black dead ants. Quiet for about 5 days. Today, I see that the kick out hole is reopened and the little "pepper grains" are starting to come out again. Do I have termites and the ants were just collateral damage? Do ants make kickout holes? Should I reapply Termidor within a week of my first application?
    A

After making your first application of Termidor FOAM in wall voids another application can not be made for 6 weeks.  Termidor is a residual product and can take weeks for full results.

    Q
I'm concerned about the Termidor FOAM having enough space since my insulation was blown into the wall.
    A

If you have termites, you should drill holes into the galleries and inject Termidor Foam to directly eliminate the colony. You will only be injecting the foam into the studs and around where the activity is, not filling the entire wall void. Please see the video for direct nest treatment in our Termite Treatment Guide.

  • Asked by Doug from Irwin, Pa

    Q
    Is Termidor Foam pet safe?
the indoor pets will not have access to the area to be treated with Termidor Foam.
    A

We would not recommend applying this product while pets and/or children are indoors. Once the Termidor Foam has dried on the surfaces behind the wall it will only be toxic to something the size of an insect or termite. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for pets to return to the area.

    Q
I have a couple of exterior casing pieces that are termite damaged. Should I cut out and replace these pieces, or is it better to use the Termidor Foam?
    A

Termidor FOAM could be used to spot treat the active infestation in the wood or you could just remove and replace depending on the level of infestation.  It can take up to 90 days to completely kill a colony depending on the termite type and size of the colony.

  • Asked by Nisha from Miami, Fl

    Q
After how long should I wait to seal drilled holes where I sprayed the Termidor FOAM?
I sprayed the foam in the holes I drilled and the same day some came out with wings and died. I am treating a bedroom door and don't want them to get in to the bedroom. Can I close the drilled holes now so I don't have to worry or do I have to wait and how long?
    A

It is recommended that you wait until the Termidor FOAM has dissipated and dried completely before sealing the drilled holes. This could take 1-2 hours.

  • Asked by Justin from Dry Fork
    07/31/2017
    Q
Does Termidor FOAM remain active on termite mud tubes for 5-10 years?
Just trying to figure out if spraying a active tube is benificial . I sprayed a termite highway and termites with Termidor FOAM by breaking the highway. Several termites began rebuilding. 8 hours later the hole was fixed. Just wondering how long the foam last on the mud tubes. On a side note i trenched and drilled the house today.
    A

Termidor FOAM will last for about 6 weeks after application.  It is really meant more for spot applications in wall voids indoors.  If you trenched outdoors with Termidor SC, this will eliminate the entire colony within 90 days.

    Q
How soon can you sleep in a bedroom with walls that have been treated with Termidor Foam?
I am treating a corner wall of a bedroom with Termidor Foam. How soon is it safe to sleep in the room or have pets in the room? Also, should the holes be covered afterward?
    A

You want to keep children and pets away when you are applying Termidor Foam.  Once you are finished applying, you can seal up the holes and it will be fine for children and pets to enter and to sleep in the room.
