    Q
Need an indoor localized spot treatment product for Drywood Termites.
I live in California and wanted to get the Termidore Foam for a local indoor treatment of Drywood termites. You apparently don't sell this to California. What would you recommend?
    A
The Alpine Ant and Termite Foam would be a fantastic option to perform spot treatments and it is for sale to California residents. Alpine Ant and Termite Foam comes from a new line of Reduced Risk Non-Repellent products which means effective pest control with a safer active ingredient.

    Q
Foam Leaks back under Cap while injecting
When I press the cap to inject the foam it leaks back under the cap and covers the can and my hands. Is this correct or did I get a dud cap or am I using it wrong. I ended up just taking the cap off and using the actual can and top as the applicator.
    A
It could or could not be a defective can. Please call us Mon-Fri 9-5 EST. We would like to help trouble shoot with you and find a solution to this problem. We appreciate your business and look forward to speaking with you soon!

    Q
When using Termidor foam, or Termidor SC and a foaming agent, will a foaming application sprayer generate more?
Pressure when injecting the foam into a wall stud than the Termidor foam product from the can?
    A

Yes, Termidor SC  with a foaming agent will generate more usage per square footage than Termidor FOAM You will need a foam applicator such as a Chapin Poly Foamer to apply the solution.

    Q
    foaming in walls
yes i just did a termidor perimeter treatment found one live tube on stem-wall i'm worried about whats going on inside my interior walls if there's cracks in foundation haven't seen anything in here should i make a preemptive strike i saw where the foam only lasts 6 weeks but i don't see why it should degrade in wall with no rain or moisture on it. i had pro,s shoot premise in around water lines about five years ago but i was thinking maybe i should have more coverage thank-you mark greenland
    A
If you know where an active infestation is, you should indeed direct treat with the Termidor Foam. The foam will only last for about 6 weeks because it is not bonding with soil molecules. This bonding makes the active ingredient last for many years vs several weeks. Premise does only give you about 5 years of coverage.

  • Asked by Chandra from Lamarque, Texas
    05/11/2015
    Q
How to use if I see mud piles inside home
Piles at the top of windows near ceiling do I spray from floor up or from ceiling down
    A
If there is no insulation in the wall then there's not many reasons for them to be in that wall void as the insulation would provide an area to nest. They may travel behind the wall voids but the main nest will not be behind it. They will most likely be using the studs as a food source and traveling up the sides of the studs. You will not foam the entire void, rather you will drill a hole close to the top of the ceiling/stud on either side of the stud. Once the holes are in place on each side, inject the foam into each hole for 5-10 seconds, allowing the foam to expand but slide down the sides of the studs where they would travel. If you are seeing them along the baseboard areas, drill holes every 8-10 inches apart across the area between studs, about an inch or 2 above the baseboard. Use the same injection rate for each hole and let dry. The Termidor Foam has some residual for about a month after it dissipates so if any are missed in the initial application the rest of the colony should be affected.

    Q
Can I use Termidor FOAM by drilling in the concrete and injecting it under the slab?
    A

Termidor FOAM would not be the product to use in the holes you’re drilled for trenching. It will not bond to the soil for very long, which is what you need when protecting your structure for termites.  It can be used in galleries, voids and harborage places. You would use Termidor SC or Taurus SC instead.

    Q
I am looking for a termite prevention product to apply to behind sheetrock on interior walls. Can I use Termidor FOAM?
    A

The only termite prevention that would be for wall voids would be foaming something like Boracare with ProFoam in a foamer into the area as these will penetrate the wood they contact.  This is best for drywood termite prevention.  For subterranean termite prevention you would apply something like Termidor SC in a trench around the home.  We have treatment guides below with more information.

    Q
Can I use the Termidor Foam inside on baseboards?
In a small area around the baseboard at my French doors I see saw dust every day. I would like to spot treat the areas where I see the saw dust.
    A
You can use the Termidor Foam by injecting it into the baseboard and applying behind the baseboard. You should not just apply to the exterior of the baseboard as the foam will not soak into the wood and the termites would go untreated.

  • Asked by Louis from Montross, Virginia

    Q
I have a fine powder and winged insects on my window sills
I believe I have an infestation of either carpenter ants or drywood termites. Do I need a professional? What is the procedure to do it myself? Is CS Demand the right product to use?
    A
You can treat this infestation yourself using a product such as Termidor Foam. You will need to drill into the infested area and apply the foam. Termidor FOAM expands rapidly creating a dry foam that can be applied in the voids, harborages, galleries, and nests where insects are found. The foam generated has an expansion ratio of 30:1. In about 5 seconds 1 oz. of product becomes approximately 1 quart of foam.

  • Asked by David from Hollywood, Md
    11/18/2018
    Q
Is Termidor FOAM the best way to treat for termites coming in around a sewer pipe that passes through a cinder block wall?
    A

Termidor FOAM can be used for a direct application to termite activity in wall voids, but has limited labeling for use outdoors.  If you have a subterranean termite infestation you would need to do a trench treatment around your home/structure with a termiticide such as Termidor SC.  You can refer to our Termite Treatment Guide for tips on how to do the treatment properly.

  • Asked by Christopher from Riviera Beach

    Q
Can Termidor Foam be used to treat termites in the attic?
Hello, I have termites in two locations of my ceiling and am unsure of what product to use to kill them. Would foam be the correct method or would foam be too much for just ceiling holes?
    A

Termidor Foam can be applied, in 5 second bursts, into the termites kickout holes on the ceiling. We would also recommend using Boracare in the attic.  Boracare needs to be applied to raw wood so it be can be absorbed and kill existing termites and it will protect the wood for the lifetime of it.

  • Asked by Clark from San Francisco, California
    05/26/2021
    Q
I ran out of filler for one of the holes in a wood beam that I applied Termidor FOAM in. Is this a big deal if it is not sealed up or filled? I want to make sure I'll be safe and it's not toxic. Not kids or pets. It's on the ceiling.
    A

Yes, all drilled holes in commonly occupied areas into which Termidor FOAM has been applied should be plugged. Per the product label in Application Instructions on page 3 the manufacturer states that all holes should be filled with appropriate putty or suitable material.

  • Asked by Carolyn from Largo, Fla
    11/28/2013
    Q
What product would I use for indoor application under concrete floor?
We are moving the sink from the wall side of the kitchen to the island side and have to dig a trench in the concrete floor for the plumbing. We have to treat the trench for termites before we replace the concrete (with 6x6 #10 wire mesh and a vapor barrier). Not sure which Termidor to use. The trench will only be at most 8 ft long, maybe 6 inches wide...? That's a guess though.
    A
Termidor SC should be applied in a 6" by 6" trench directly around the exterior of the structure. It is not applied indoors. It is labeled for outdoor use only. Termidor Foam can be used indoors for a spot treatment that will kill existing termites but will only provide up to 6 weeks of treatment and does not replace the exterior trench treatment. Please contact us at 866.581.7378 for more information on treating for termites.

  • Asked by Lisa from Long Island Bahamas
    02/07/2015
    Q
I bought Kitchen Cabinets from Abbey Lane Cabinetry of NC
I paid for custom cabinets and had them shipped to the Bahamas. Two years after the installation the Kitchen Cabinets were destroyed by termites. Nothing that any insect control expert here had seen. I contacted the manufacturer Wentworth of the Carolina's and was told they had renamed and restructured their company. I spend over 25K on these cabinets. What I face is an un-killable infustation and a manufacturer that will not reply to me. Can you tell me if this product can help me kill and at least save the cabinets that are not destroyed? A friend had used and praised this product. Please help me as I don't know what to do or where to turn?
    A
The Termidor Foam is definitely an amazing product and does well to transfer. That being said,  you would have to drill holes into the cabinets to inject it into the galleries the termites have created for it to expand through their tunnels and reach them. Honestly, we have many customers in the bahamas that use our products (they have them shipped through freight forwarders) and its very common for you to have a variety of termites in your area that could have flown in from the outside and infested the cabinets. The only downside to the cabinets themselves is if they weren't pretreated before being assembled/stained from the people you purchased them from. If there were termites in them when they came from the manufacturer, the likely hood of them being in there this whole time with no signs of damage or kick out holes and dust until 2 years out is extremely slim. Cabinets aren't that thick compared to beams and supports of the structures of homes which can cause finding termite damage and activity signs to be less noticeable for longer. Normally activity would show up not long after you received the cabinets if they came infested. Now, if its powder post beetles they could have been in the raw wood without you or even the cabinet company knowing they were there. Powder post beetle larvae can stay dormant up to 20 years sometimes in the wood and then emerge. If that is what you have, your best mode of action would be to have your home tented/fumigated to kill them all at once. Termidor foam wont work for you in that case and the products we have that would work would require you sand your custom cabinets down to raw wood and then apply them. This is a tough situation for you but fumigation is almost your only option.

    Q
Do I treat the void or drill holes in the studs using Termidor FOAM?
I can hear the popping and cracking suspected sound of termites in a wall between my utility room and dining room.
    A

Termidor FOAM should be applied into the drilled holes. You will not foam the entire wall void, rather you will drill a hole close to the top of the ceiling/stud on either side of the stud.

  • Asked by Aglika from Newark
    04/28/2021
    Q
Will Termidor FOAM leave water stains on the inside of wall when applied to wall voids?
    A

When performing a spot treatment behind a wall, it is very important to drill directly into the affected stud and foam into the termite galleries as well as the void on either side of the stud. You will not foam the entire void with Termidor Foam, rather you will drill a hole close to the top of the ceiling/stud on either side of the stud. Once the holes are in place on each side, inject the foam into each hole for 5-10 seconds, allowing the foam to expand but slide down the sides of the studs where they would travel. Foam is preferred because it has the ability to expand and travel deep into the termite galleries, cracks and crevices, and wall void much better, which does provide better coverage than liquids. It should not cause any staining if used as directed.

How to treat garage studs that are directly on concrete
I had to replace garage wall - Though it was water. But I now know its termites. The walls are covered with drywall - I noticed what looked like little piles of sawdust . Cut out squares on side of studs - I found a tunnel. I have been putting termite and carpenter bee spray from HD in there. It stopped - but they keep coming back. The wall is on garage blocks - treated bottom plate - then reg. wood. Wished we used all treated wood. So what can I spray into the studs ?
    A
You mentioned finding sawdust but you did not mention finding mud tunnels. Do you know if you have subterannean termites or drywood termites?
