    Q
I am a homeowner in Texas. Is it legal for me to buy and apply Termidor around my home? Thanks, Steve
The label on the 20 oz bottle says "For sale to, use and storage only by individuals/firms licensed or registered by the state to apply termitcide and/or general pest control products." product? I just want to be sure. Thanks, Steve
    A
Some product labels do say for licensed pest professional use only but that is just the manufacturers wording and it is not law. The manufacturer would like to limit the purchase of the product to Pro's only because of course they will make more money on the products if they can only be sold to a select few. Each individual state gets to decide if a product can be used in the state and if so if they will restrict its use to professionals. On our website you will see several product that say "cannot be sold to NY, CT or other states and those are states that have restricted the use of the product by individuals. Other states do allow you to sue the product, but only on your own property. You cannot use the products to treat other peoples property for profit unless you are licensed. We are fully licensed to sell the products you see on our site and we are over seen by the department of agriculture.

    Q
How well does Termidor SC work with brown recluse spiders?
We purchased a 100 year old home and there is a major infestation of brown recluse. Any help would be appreciated.
    A
Termidor SC is labeled for brown recluse spiders but you would only be able to use the product outside.  Termidor SC does not have an immediate knockdown but instead uses a delayed reaction kill which makes it especially effective for social insects like ants, termites and certain species of wasps.  The hardest part of getting rid of the brown recluse is finding them since they like to remain hidden. Cyper WP would be a great choice for indoor and outdoor spider control. The active ingredient in Cyper WP is cypermethrin, which is known to be one of the top choices for spider control. Spraying Cyper WP will also help to get rid of the insects that spiders feed on and that will help to stop new spiders from moving in. Indoors, spray around all baseboards, door frames, window frames, under appliances, in closets and storage rooms and in areas where utilities enter into the structure. Outdoors you should spray around the bottom of the foundation, on the ground adjacent to the foundation, door frames, window frames and places where the utilities enter into the structure.  We have included Cyper in our spider control kit, which also contains glue boards to help monitor the infestation (and help catch the spiders too).

    Q
Can Termidor SC be used effectively for carpet beetle larvae under cabinets and in wall voids?
I have some of this on hand and have been using suspend but they are persistent even though I have removed all visible items that they can be supported by. They seem to be coming from under the cabinets. I have drilled the toe kicks and sprayed with the Suspend 2 weeks ago slowing the infestation down but they are still crawling out from the closed in area under the cabinets. Thank You, Norm
    A

No, Termidor SC is not labeld for Carpet Beetles and can only be used indoors for active termite treatments. Adult carpet beetles are most commonly found outside so if you have not treated outside or inspected for areas where they could be nesting, we recommend treating there as well. They feed on pollen and nectar, but lay eggs in bird, rodent, bee, or wasp nests or old spider webs to give the larvae an abundant food source. Clearing these away from your home, along with checking near highly pollinating plants near your house and checking cut flowers for the beetles before bringing them inside.

To access the area under the cabinets you can also use Delta Dust and apply with a bellow hand duster to the cracks and crevices under the cabinets and inside the closed area underneath. You only need a light coating but this will last 6-8 months in undisturbed areas. As the carpet beetle larvae hatch and/or crawl out of the cabinet area, they will come in contact with the dust. This would give better results then spraying inside with the Suspend SC.

Adding Gentrol IGR (insect growth regulator) will also stop the growth of the immature stages of the carpet beetle and can be mixed in right along with your Suspend SC in a 1 gallon pump sprayer. Mix 1oz Gentrol with 1 oz of Supsend SC with 1 gallon of water.

Spray along the floorboards under the cabinets, closets, corners, etc and let it completely dry. After the liquid has dried, come back and apply the Delta Dust. We have a great video here that will show you how to apply to wall voids and hard to reach areas.

Vacuuming is cruicial to eradicate the carpet beetles. Use crack and crevice attachements to get deep into the baseboards, grooves and other areas where lint, dust, pet hairs, etc will build up.

    Q
Do I need to drill through a step into my house or through the patio attached to the step and treat with Termidor SC?
Exiting my house, there is one step and then a patio. Should the step or patio be drilled incrementally to treat for termites? This is the back door and faces the southwest. Thank you.
    A

Yes, you should drill a hole 2" from the foundation wall (1/2" in diameter/18" deep) every 10-12" apart. You will be dispursing the same amount of finished soultion in the drilled holes as you will the trench around the structure. Termidor SC will be mixed at 3.2 oz per 4 gallons of water per 10 lineal feet (in trench or drilled holes). Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
What treatment is recommended for Crazy Raspberry Ants?
    A
Termidor SC  used outdoors and Phantom used indoors have been the most effective products to control Crazy Raspberry Ants. Ant baits and synthetic pyrethroid insecticides do not seem to do an effective job controlling this ant species. Texas A&M University has done extensive research regarding these ants and you can find detailed articles on their extension website.

    Q
Can you use Termidor SC if you have a well?
We live in the country and have a well and septic system. Is this safe to use in this case. We found termites in our out building. How many bottles should we purchase?
    A

The Termidor SC product label states that you cannot use Termidor SC closer than 5 feet from a well or cistern. The amount of product you will need will be dependent on the total linear footage you’re treating.  One 20 ounce bottle will treat approximate 60 linear feet of trenching.

Does Termidor SC kill black widows, brown recluse, tarantulas, and scorpions besides ants and termites?
I have a lot of black widow spiders, scorpions, and tarantulas around the house in addition to ants. I'd like to know if I can use Termidor SC to kill them keep them away from the house since I will be buying for ants/termite protection.

    Q
CAN I APPLY TERMADOR SC TO MY PALM TREE BASES(24-36 INCHES UP) AND FENCE POST
MY DOG JUMPS ON TREESS AND POST TRYING TO CHASE SQUIRRELS AND LIZARDS. i HAVE A REAL BAD INFESTATION OF ANTS ON PRPOERT AND THERE EATING MY TEES AND FENCE POSTS
    A
Termidor SC can only be applied around the foundation of your home or other building structure for ant control. You cannot use the product out around the trees or fences because it is not labeled for this type of application. We recommend using ant bait graules in the places where you cannot use the Termidor SC. You can see our ant bait granules here: Ant Bait Granules

    Q
If there is no difference between Termidor SC and Taurus SC, why would a state ban one product and not the other?
    A

Termidor Sc and Taurus SC are essentially the same product they are just made by different manufacturers. They both carry almost the exact same label and there is not any advantage to using one product over the other. There are many reasons that include: state restrictions, licensing etc that are involved with allowing products to certain states.
