    I am doing a subterranean termite treatment - can I use Termidor HE and Termidor SC?
    After finding a huge sub. Termite infestation in my crawl space, can I use Termidor HE in the areas that access is extremely difficult and the Termidor SC in the areas that have much easier access? Also, should I spray the bottoms of my sub-floors or any exposed wood with the borax (? name) wood treatment then after both treatments (Termidor,bare wood treatment) should I spread the termite granules across the entire crawl space to or is this a over kill!!?? I am doing the trenching and drilling around the Perimeter according to the Termidor (HE, SC) specs. call for!! Thanks for your help!!! Deno

    We do not carry the Termidor HE so we are not familiar with how it compares to the Termidor SC and whether you can use the two products together. Trenching and drilling around the perimeter of the foundation, trenching and drilling any piers under the crawlspace, and spot treating in wall voids with Termidor SC is our best recommendation. If you would like to give extra protection to the exposed sub floors you could do a life long protection on those areas with the Boracare. The Boracare would be mixed at a 1:1 ratio for any active infestations, and a 5:1 ratio for preventative only. Mix it with hot water and spray or paint it onto any raw wood surface for protection for the life of the wood. Please let us know if you have any further questions!     We are treating an active termite infestation with Termidor. Other than exterior trenching, what should we do?
    We've been told we have active termites under our house, which has a crawlspace foundation with concrete block piers. What should we do besides treating the exterior foundation with the Termidor SC? We've also been told that they are under the concrete steps. We have 10 rental properties and are trying to treat all of them.

    If you know where the termites are active we do recommend directly treating that area. You should trench and treat around the wall inside the crawl space and trench and treat around each pier for best results. Drilling through the concrete steps to apply Termidor to the area under the steps is needed as well as many contractors hide buidling debris in these areas and termites are known to frequent this area.

    Can Termidor SC be used first, then Boracare sprayed on top of it in crawlspaces?

    Termidor SC is not really meant to be used as a crawl space wood treatment.  If you are going to be applying Boracare, it is not necessary to also use Termidor.  Boracare will penetrate completely into the wood and will remain active for the life of the wood.

    Is Termidor SC safe if children play or crawl outside where it was sprayed?
    I have an 8 month old child that crawls in the grass. Will it be safe for her to crawl on treated soil once the Termidor SC is used?

    Termidor SC is one of our most popular products and is most known for the fact that it is very safe.  Termidor SC, when used for termites or ants, should only be applied right up against the house.  It is not labeled to treat the ground any farther than one foot out from the foundation.  As long as you follow the labels instructions and treat against the foundation of the home, it is perfectly safe for your child to play in your yard and in the grass.

    Question regarding Termidor use indoors.
    A Licensed pest control professional used Termidor to eliminate ants. Besides around the foundation, he used it in the crawl space and around openings in the kitchen. Are there any problems with this type of application?

    We cannot comment on treatments performed by pest control operators. We can tell you that the Termidor SC product label does allow applications in wall voids only indoors and there are limited applications allowed in crawlspaces. You can read pages 13-15 of the Termidor SC product label to see if the application performed by the pest control operator follows the instructions given by the manufacturer.

    Suppose I choose to do my own termite control. What sort of expense would I incur? My home is 1750 sq ft.
    My home is built on cinderblock with a crawl space. One company wants to drill holes in my concrete slab garage to put down chemicals. Is this really necessary?

    If I apply Termidor SC around the foundation, is there anything to spray between the sheetrock and the exterior walls? Should I have to?
    A
    If you do not currently have termite activity, then you only have to treat the outside perimeter of your home.  If your home is on a crawl space foundation, there may be a few places that you need to treat under the home.  You do not have to treat in the walls unless there is a specific place that you have termite activity already that you know about.  If so, then you can apply Termidor SC directly to the area as a spot treatment inside in addtion to all of the perimeter treatment outside.  If you have not read our "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article already, it will completely explain how to do the outside treatment.

    Termidor: Shelf life? Solut. shelf life? Unhealthy for men if used indoor or crowl space? Protects 10 years???
    Dry wood termite activity suspected inside chimny framing; dry wood and sub t. activity spotted in the crowl spase... The house built - finaliyed in 2005... The building 'completely wrapped' with vinil siding... Ground covered up to the walls 90% around...

    If stored in a cool dry area, Termidor will last 3-5 years. You want to be sure to use any mixed solutions within 24 hours of mixing. Termidor is meant to be applied indoors as spot treatment only. It is recommended to perform the same 6inx6in trench in the crawspace as around the outside perimeter. Was the solution is applied into the trench it will bond with the soil and last up to ten years. You may want to consider if possible injecting a foam like Alpine Foam into the areas where you have seen the drywood termites. Please visit our guides and tips for Termite control.

    What's an easy way to spot treat a termite infestation in a wood floor which has no access to the crawl space?
    I want to do a Termidor perimeter treatment but I want to delay the exterior treatment till spring when the ground isn't soaked from snow. Naturally, I want to do the interior spot treatment right away to avoid further damage. I thought about drilling holes above each joist and injecting Termidor Foam. The idea being that the foam won't just drop to the dirt below. Another thought is to spray liquid Termidor directly on the bottom of the floor and sides of the joists using a 360 degree wand that sprays sideways or even backward. Does such a wand exist? BTW, the hardwood floor is probably not true hardwood. I'm pretty sure it is a tongue and groove subflooring that has been finished to look nice. The termites ate through it and were exposed when we lifted a throw rug.

    Termidor SC should be applied in a 6" by 6" trench directly around the exterior of the structure but we understand that you are waiting for the appropriate weather. It is not applied indoors. It is labeled for outdoor use only. Termidor Foam can be used indoors for a spot treatment that will kill existing termites but will only provide up to 6 weeks of treatment and does not replace the exterior trench treatment. Termidor SC or Termidor Foam will not be a wood  treatment product. We also carry a product called Jecta that can be applied into wood for spot treatments.     I just found a termite colony under my house in my crawl space? I want to use the strongest Termidor solution.

    Termidor SC is a great choice for termite treatments. It lasts 10+ years in the soil if applied as directed. I have included a termite article below for additional information on treating around your structure. If you are going to be treating the wood in the crawlspace, we recommend that you apply Bora-Care if treating for drywood termites.
